My daughter is 2.5 and likes to chew gum as a reward sometimes. I do not mind her doing this - she's very good about keeping it in her mouth and throwing it away when done. She gets it maybe 1-2x a month. I prefer non-sugary gum. What are some good kinds that are soft and remain soft and don't lose their flavor? I just recently bought Extra Classic Bubble flavor but the gum becomes very hard very fast and loses it's flavor.
Ideas?
Trident is good and anything sweetened with Xylitol instead of sugar will actually help prevent cavities.
My son's dentist actually gave him some of the new Trident and it tastes really good! The flavor stays quite a while. It's our new favorite.
I like Melaleuca. It's small, not messy, kids like it and it doesn't have sugar or the artificial sweetener...
Where can you buy Melaleuca gum? My daughter loves chewing gum and we use it for potty training rewards, she likes the orbit fruit sorbet flavor.

I just choose some flavors that are sugarless as long as their not "spicy"as my 3 yr.old says meaning to strong in cinnamon & minty
Melaleuca gum is the only gum I let my kids chew (and they're 14 and 18, lol). It is sweetened with xylitol which is actually good for the teeth and there is absolutely no artificial sweetener in it. EVERY gum at the check out register at the grocery store has nutrisweet or it's generic. There is no reason to feed this known neurological toxin to our kids even though there is no teeth damaging sugar in the gum.

Our dentist gives the kids sugar free Bazooka bubble gum. It's just like what they had when I was a kid but sugar free, My son likes it, and he is also a big fan of the Trident Layers Strawberry gum.

I was actually going to suggest the Extra. I personally like it. You can also use Trident. It is supposed to be good for teeth.
I don't have a particular gum suggestion but wanted to mention that kids should stay away from sugar less gums with artifcial sweetners. My son was having terrible urinary tract pain and I took him to the dr. thinking it was an infection. The problem turned out to be that I had been letting him drink my Crystal Light with Spenda. I saw a few mom's mention Melaleuca, I think I will look into that for my kids.
