Best Deodorant

One of the biggest drawbacks to living in Texas is the HEAT! We have had almost 3+ weeks of over 100 degree heat and I need some suggestions on best deodorant for this heat. I've lived her all my life and I've never had trouble until this summer. I get up at 5:30 every morning and apply the deodorant almost as soon as I'm up. After work I pick up my kids and run a few errands. By 5:00 pm I need to reapply my deodorant. I use Dove right now and have never had a problem like this before but I'm very sensitive to my own body odor so I want to prevent the sweaty smell as long as possible. Is there something else that is stronger? Is the "clinical" strength deodorants really that much better? What do you prefer for those really hot/active days?

So What Happened?

Wow! I'm actually surprised that I got this many responses about this topic. Thanks for all the great suggestions! I had some Degree that I got as a sample in the mail and have started using it. So far it's working okay. When I run out I will look a little closer at some of the other offerings. Ya'll are better than Consumer Reports!

I know this might sound weird but if I use one deodorant for more than two days in a row it stops working. Especially in the summer. So I keep three to five different brands around and alternate between them. My favorite is probably Mitchum though.

I like Mitchum. It is a superior antipersperant and I've never had any issues with the deoderant part of the equation either. As a heavy sweater, it was recommended to me by my dermatologist.

I like Shaklee's deodorant creme. I am a distributor (because I like the supplements.) But some people just buy that once a year.

I have gross sweating issues. I use Certain Dry at night, and then Degree Clinical during the day. I do think the Clinicals work better than regular, but that's my opinion.

I like Mitchem gel. The men's one unscented not the women's one.

My 16 yr old likes Dove Clinical

We are right here with you dealing with the heat. No complaints from me tho, I hate cold, ice, snow, etc

I am right there with you! ;) This heat is horrible!! I have switched many times because I sweat A LOT! It runs in my family unfortunately. I have tried many different ones and within the last year have switched to the secret clinical strength. It works wonders and I don't smell anymore. YAY!!!

I finally found one that works - Secret Clinical Strength. It actually works. I used to smell the sweat and the deodorant with others and now I no longer smell no matter how much I sweat. I love it!

I'm here with you in the heat ! It's really bad right now. I used to use Secret and loved it. Worked great then all of the sudden quit working. Dove has never worked for me. Right now I am using Degree and it works great. You might try Secret or Degree and see if that helps any.

I grew up in deserts and jungles, and then joined the USMC (more deserts and jungles, but in long sleeves, whew!). Went through a LOT of deodorant to find one that actually worked. The 2ND worst were the "time release" ones. Because it was just the perfume scent that released. Yay. BO & Perfume. Yuck. ((1st worst were natural deodorants, except the crystal, which is pure aluminum salts... but all the other's Toms, Jason, they smell SO good... but have to be reapplied at least once or twice an hour)).

For me, the only one that actually works is Mitchem gel. I prefer unscented, but they all work great.

It's funny. Up here in Seattle it 'works' for 2 or 3 days straight. But in real heat and high levels of activity in the heat, it works for about 12-18 hours.

I find that I periodically have to switch brands of deodorant. It seems one kind will work for a stick or 2 then not work as well and I will find something else that does a better job. I think our bodies chemistry changes periodically causing our bodies to respond differently. With that said I have found that Dove works the best for me most of the time.

I used to use Dove, but I like Secret much better. My SIL and hubby have always liked Tussy, because they like you need to reapply more than in the morning. Unfortunately, I think Tussy is out of business, and my hubby has been using Tom's. It works great for him. Good luck.

I really like Almay fragrance free gel roll on. It's one of the few I'm not allergic too. I hate anything with a perfume because after a short while it becomes a weird combination of BO and perfume which isn't very pleasant. I'd rather have no smell thank you. It can get pretty hot and humid here and I don't have problems using this at all.
