Hi moms,

Can anyone recommend a good car seat that is comfortable for their toddler to sleep in on a long road trip. We have the Cosco Alpha Omega Elite Car Seat and on the drive from Chicago to Minnesota (takes us 8 hours) our daughter cried and was saying ouch while trying to sleep. We live in the city so we don't use the car seat much, but when we do drive to Minnesota to visit my family I want her to be comfortable and sleep well, so I am willing to buy a new one, even if it is expensive. It might just be that my daughter is just not a good car seat rider, but any advice wold be helpful!

I have begun to believe that comfort in car seats will vary by body type. I've had to change out car seats over the years, for my 3 children.
So my suggestion, after you do your saftey checks, take your daughter shopping with you. Let her try some seats out and then let her pick. You'll be able to see what fits her body best and it will give her ownership of the seat, and therefore help any other issues of not being a good car seat rider. You may even find she likes the seat you have but that a new seat cover will satisfy her.
Have a safe trip.

We have the Evenflo Triumph Advance DLX Convertible Car Seat - Lincoln. They had 3 that looked the same. Some have more padding. . We went with the more plush one. I think this is it.

When we went to Tenn. it was a 7 or 8 hr trip and we did okay. We let him play at the MCdonalds play land and when we stopped at rest areas we let him play and we took our time. My son sleeps in this all the time. But he is used to it. He snoozes on the way home from daycare.

After our trip we were made aware of this item.

I will be getting it for our son for christmas. I wish we had it when we went on our trip. Because it gives him a play area.

Good luck.

LOVE our Britax roundabout. She has been in it since 9 months, and still at 19 months, we've not had any complaints from her. She rode contentedly for 10 hours last months, sleeps in it, everything. AND she is still rear facing, which is a big deal to me.
We have last years model, but theyve recently changed the model a bit, its now called the roundabout 50. It can accomodate a larger child, but the seat is larger too. It's almost as big as the Britax Marathon, which we already purchased and will be moving her to once #2 is ready for the roundabout.

Recaro cannot be beat for safety and comfortability. recaro.com...My son and daughter love their $99 boosters and I love knowing how safe they are. Recaro even gets better reviews tham Britax...my son prefers his Recaro to the Britax he used to have...
