Good Day Moms!
I am looking for a bakery that bakes great birthday cakes and that it is reasonable. I have bought cakes from HEB, Walmart & SAM's which they make great cakes but I am looking for a different taste. At my place of employment, we celebrate a staff luncheon every month. I am always in charge of bringing the cake. There are times that I will bake a homemade cake but I have a busy schedule and can't alway bake one right away. I live near the medical area and I work close to downtown near SAC. So ladies any ideas?

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank you so much for those who responded! I have to agree the cake from Costco is great! The staff love it. I will also take into consideration on the other bakeries. Now I have more than one place to buy special birthday cakes each month. Thank you moms!

I love Costco's cakes. Their sheet cakes all come with a filling of your choice. They are priced great too.

We religiously use Creations Cakes. They are in Pleasonton but they are considerable cheaper and I am sure she would either meet you half way or deliver it. She can make a cake look like anything, she made our grooms cake look like a newspaper. And everyone raved about my daughters cake. We live on the Northwest side and drive all the way out there because her cakes taste the best!

E.,

There's a place at I10 and Wurzbach (9871 IH-10) called "The Cake Shop". I think it's in The Colonnade shopping center or just up the access road there. I have had their cupcakes...delicious!! Also, if you go to www.hotcoupons.com and search by zip code and then bakery, you can find a coupon for them. The coupon changes every 6 weeks or so, but there's always a coupon for them. Right now, there's a 10% off, free 1/2 dz cupcakes, or buy 2 slices of cake and ge a 3rd one free. Anyway, hope that helps!

Since you live near the medical area, Nadlers on the Corner of Calleghan and Babcock to me is the best bakery in town. You don't even have to order a cake, they seem to always have several on hand, and will write on it while you wait.

I used to get cakes from Walmart, HEB and sometimes a friend made them for me but when my family threw me my baby shower they got the cake from Lucy's cake shop. It was delicious and very moist, as a matter of fact I am having a baby shower for a friend of mine and getting the cake from there. Nadlers is great too, great cakes and in the medical center area on babcock...

GREAT Cakes and she delivers.

Joseph's Storehouse on St. Mary's is also good; a little pricy but worth the cost.

It might be a little out of the way, but so worth it in the end. There is a cute bakery on Nacodoches between O'Conner and Thousand Oaks. It is called Bakery Park and they make fabulous cakes. It is family owned and everything is homemade. They are super nice people and be sure and take your daughter with you when you go, because they love giving treats out for you to try. Good Luck!!
