Has any other moms taken benedryl throughout their pregnancies? If so did it cause any problems with the baby?

What can I do next?

Yes! My dr. actually told me to take Benedryl to help me sleep at night. I have terrible morning sickness at night and later in my pregnancy have trouble sleeping. He said it was safe for me to take one to help me sleep.

Hey R.,

Benedryl won't hurt the baby. When I was pregnat with my twins I had trouble sleeping. My doctor told me to take tylenol pm, which has benedryl in it, to help me sleep. It didn't cause any problems for me or the babies. Congrats and good luck. Hope this helps ease you mind a little. Later Days,
A.

Hi. My son is 8 mos. old and I got a list of medicines I COULD take while I was pregnant. Benadryl was on that list. It didn't hurt Kyiwann. You can take that.

Hi R.,
I did take benadryl when I was pregnant, but I had to be careful about it because it also made him drowsy. At the time that was the least I could've taken because my allergies were so bad my eyes were swelling.

I took benedryl from month 4 until 2 days before delivery. It is on the approved list of medications that my doctor gave me to take during pregnancy. I have really bad allergies and this was all that worked to help me breath. My daughter has issues at birth but had nothing to do with the medication.

I used Benadryl during 3 previous pregnancies with no trouble. Even in my first trimester, when I couldn't sleep for days, my doctor said I should try Benadryl. It worked, and I have perfectly healthy children. Good luck!

Hi - I am a mother of 2 perfectly healthy little boys, ages 1 and 3. I took Benadryl during both pregnancies. My doctor told me it was okay, and it's a safe pregnancy medication. Sometimes it was the only way I could get some good sleep. You can also take Tylenol p.m., which is just Tylenol with Benadryl.

I've taken it, and my doctor told me it was ok to take any allergy med as long as it was over the counter stuff. No problems.

I was told not to take Benedryl while I was pregnant, which was weird because I had always heard it was ok...but he was my first so anything they told me I did...lol...instead, to use Suddafed. But, as always, anything to do with medicine you should discuss with your doctor because if you have really sever allergies, he/she might be able to prescribe you something safe. Hope this helps!!
