Beaumont Affiliated Gyn.

OK - at this point in my life I no longer need an OB and now I am having a hard time finding a doctor that doesn't make me feel like I am being brushed off at this phase in my womanhood. I am 40, my body is starting to make some small changes, I have had irregular mammograms and I have questions. I have switched doctors twice now because I swear I feel like they are only concerned with the OB portion of their practice. Are there any doctors out there that are concerned with the complete woman's health - not just the baby making portion?

What can I do next?

my first suggestion woudll be to call beaumont physician referal and ask for some names of gynecologists.. there are docs that only do the gyn and do not do ob.

I do like my ob/gyn..... wilshire ob/gyn the office is in troy.. there is an older man (probably soon to retire) a 45 ish man and a 35 ish woman.

Dr. Beglin is the female dr and Iwould pick her of the 3 docs.

I would recommend Dr. Ty Kwaiser ###-###-####. His office is in Troy Beaumont Hospital. He delivered both of my children, but I have had issues and concerns that you are experiencing, and he has handled all of them with a lot of care and concern. And, almost always, he returns phone calls the same day you leave a message. He never rushes you, and answers all of your questions.

C.,

Love my GYN. She still delivers, but I get the sense she prefers the post-baby care as she is definitely there herself (her kids are young teens.) Wonderful doctor, great "bedside" manner. She'll give you all the time in the world for questions. I've never felt rushed and she's so personable and friendly.

Her office is on Big Beaver in Troy. Dr. Anna Bida-Dudun, ###-###-####.

C., I am a little older than you are and made the same mistake. Do not rely on an ob-gyn for our overhale health needs. From my experience the ob-gyn doctors are not qualified to treat you total health and well being.I made the mistake on relying on my ob-gyn when I started having thyroid problems. The ob gyn set me up for thyroid tests and then never called me back to tell me my thyroid tests came back with low thyroid. I even called the office and his office girl told me the test results where fine everything came back norma. At my next yearly exam and 30 lbs later the ob gyn doctor told me the tests came back with possible low thyroid and you need to see an internist and not use our office as your primary care physician.
Find doctor a primary care doctor.
I recently changed to Dr George Nicoloff MD of Beaumont Hospital. He has been my daughters primary care doctor and she has been happy with him. He will personally take your calls and answer questions over the phone. He also added a female doctor to his staff if you would rather have a female doctor handle your pap test and pelvic exam.

I've been seeing Dr. Sanborn at Generations ob/gyn in Birmingham for years. I'm past the baby age as well and have had some problems and he has always treated them with concern. There are several excellent doctors in his practice.

I LOVE my OB/GYN. But, as you can see, he is a GYN too. He actually delivered my youngest. But, I am over 40 now and he still takes time with me, is compassionate, listens.

Dr. Payson in Farmington Hills. She has a background of Internal Medicine and she's really great. She does work in an ob/gyn office but she was really great and thorough. Never in my life have I had an exam this good. She even found out I have high colesterol. She answered all my questions, some before I even had to ask! The name of the clinic slips my mind...it's in the Arboratem Park off of 12 mile. They are affiliated with Royal Oak Beaumont.

Good Luck...Hope you find someone you like!

I have been happy with Dr. Kathleen Huston at Generations OB in Birmingham. (I don't have the number handy, but you can google them.) She did my hysterectomy 2 years ago and seems easy to talk to and concerned about all the stuff happening to me now that I am beyond child bearing.

I have a friend who is an OB/GYN out of Beaumont. Her name is Dr. Patricia Larson. I've never gone to her as a patient, but I know her as a person and she is kind, considerate, and I've known her for 25 years. She is in her mid-40's too so I imagine she will understand what you are going through.

Hi,
I know the feeling, I recommend a Woman Dr, and I also go to a Internest, and she see's to it all my needs are taken care of.

Keeps track of everything, and keeps me informed. I have had a few women Dr's and find them very satisfactory.

Mine is also A Beaumont Dr. in the Rochester Area
