My 3 1/2 year old is normally hyper but that is not the problem - It's bath time now. For the last 4 evenings she fights me, telling me"I want to be dirty, please don't". I don't know if this is normal or what could happen to make a child act that way? OKh yeah anad by the way, she use to love taking bathes up until now....

What can I do next?

Yep, they do this sometimes at this age. Our daughter "was tired of baths" and would do anything to squirm out of them.

We used to do bath races.. I would bathe her one night as fast as possible. and then the next night my husband would bathe her and try to beat my time..We kept the times on the bathroom mirror.

My husband would cheat and tell her to hold the shampoo and the soap (hee, hee). My husband was not as thorough as me (on purpose and our daughter would call him on it) she would yell out, "dad says he isn't going to wash my neck!!!!."

The rule is we had to wash her as well as we normally did.. No cheating..

Our daughter would laugh and laugh ..

Just try to think of other ways of doing things..
Maybe bubbles every once in a while. Shaving cream to write on the tub walls..

Wash her in the darkened bathroom, just the hall light..

Probably just a phase.
Maybe she's too busy lately to "waste" time on a bath? :)
Unless she's been outside and is dirty-dirty, I think it's OK to skip a bath here and there....

my daughter is now almost 4, but she started to give me a hard time at bath just for the heck of it around 3yrs. It's a control thing, sometimes it takes forever to get her in, then once she's in, she doesn't want to come out! Go figure; control. Hahahaha...

Ask her if she's ready to try a shower (with you in the bathroom right there, of course.) My daughter was at that age because she knew that's what I did. If that's a no-go tell her she can wear her bathing suit, blow some bubbles in the tub, or entice her with a book or game after her bath. She more than likely still loves her baths, but doesn't want to "waste" her time✿

my son went through a phase where he did not want to take a bath.. we got him new bath toys and sometimes my husband would take a bath with him.. it seemed to last abut 3 weeks or so.. We do baths every other night because he has dry skin.. the only time we do them every night is when he is very dirty. You can also try a shower or let him go in his swim suit?

the way you posted this makes it sound like you suspect something. if you do follow your instincts but know that most children go thru this
