Hi! What do you use to carry sand toys around? My LO loves playing in the sandbox the park. I am trying to find a plastic bag that I could throw everything in and carry or hook it onto the stroller.

What can I do next?

I us a mesh laundry bag from the dollar store. Works perfect and when we go to the beach I can easily rinse the toys off.

I would use a mesh drawstring bag. That way, sand won't get trapped in it. :)

I have always found a mesh laundry bag to be cheap and works well. You can get them in colors, it has a drawstring, and what sand is collected falls off. If they get wet they dry without getting funky

A mesh laundry bag works well, sand runs right through it.

Mesh works great for the sand to fall out of. You can usually find something in the laundry aids department as mesh bags allow air to circulate. A mesh bag can be hosed down at home too, without taking everything apart. If it's going in your car, then the sand will fall all over the floor of the car, so it's helpful to just put it in a cardboard box, on an old towel or sheet, or right inside a large pillowcase which can be turned inside out and laundered every so often. If you want a loop on that, use a standard laundry bag like they sell for college kids or high school athletes who are always hauling stuff around - a lot of those are made from sturdy fabric but they can be large.

You can knot the mesh bag if it has a drawstring - if you remember the easy-release knot from scouting days, you can take the double string, make a loop, and then tie a single knot with the entire loop. That can loop over the handle of an umbrella stroller, or you can use an inexpensive carabiner from the hardware store to hook it to any surface loop on the stroller.

I have also used a plastic mesh tote with big handles - the bottom isn't mesh so most of the sand gets caught in the bottom solid section (about 1 inch high) but the whole thing can still be hosed down and then tilted on its side to drain.

You might also try one of those reusable grocery bags which has a bottom panel - probably the sturdier ones that are plastic lined (that you might use for refrigerated foods) are better than the soft-sided ones. The large handles would loop over the stroller handle, but again, if you have a solid stroller bar instead of individual handles as on an umbrella-style, you could use a large carabiner.

I agree with the mesh tote. You want something that the sand will just fall out of, that will allow the toys to dry if they get wet and that is big enough for all of them. Plastic is not the most convenient.

I used to use a mesh bag so the sand wouldn't gather in the bottom. After awhile, it ripped. Target has great tote bags that are somewhere around $10-15. It's still mesh, but has a solid bottom so it holds up really well.

This is mine, but there are several other patterns/colors: http://www.target.com/p/striped-mesh-beach-tote-handbag-g...

Well, I'll join the consensus and vote for mesh. One of the coolest things about it is that, once you can get the bag home, you can hose off everything in it before you open it, which makes it easier to rinse the toys off individually later.

Check the Dollar Store. They usually have mess clothes storage bags containers or hampers. I like the hamper that has a pop up wire/plastic frame. It's easy to put the toys in and out of and can be folded up when not in use at the beach when the toys are being used. And only costs a dollar LOL
