In addition to the topical remedies, I'll be popping Aleve around the clock. Pain relieves, not just for breakfast anymore!

Thank you for asking that question, I was just about to post the same thing! I feel your pain - I took my daughter to the beach this past weekend and burt my shoulders, back, chest and legs now my skin is actually purplish. Anyway I have been using the solarcaine it really does help! Just make sure you give it some time to dry completely or you will be peeling your shirt off of your back. Good luck, hope your feeling better soon!

I have found that sometimes the old ways are the best. My mother told me to use milk of magnisia, or cidar vinigarand water. Both sound very weird, but trust me they work. Use the vinigar in your bath. The milk of mag. Use like a lotion. Both remove the sting.

All great suggestions there , especially the aloe.
You can also soak cloths in tea and lay them on your back. Or head for the drug store and get a good burn ointment, Aquaphor is my choice. Good luck...and buy some sunscreen :)

Hi. Believe it or not, soaking in tea helps to get rid of the pain. My sister used to get really bad sunburn and a family friend taught us this trick. Just be careful not to srain your bath tub! Mr. Clean Majic Eraser can probably help with that.

Here are some natural remedies you can try:

Apply aloe vera or vinegar on the affected skin; it will stop inflammation and pain. Avoid products made from benzocaine, lidocaine and petroleum jelly.

Rub mustard oil on the affected skin and allow to it dry, this will take out the heat from the skin.

Cut fresh cucumber slices and rub them on the affected area.

Before taking bath, add some baking powder to the bath water, this will help to soothe the burnt skin.

Apply lavender oil or peppermint oil on the burnt skin.

Apply apple cider vinegar to the burnt skin using cotton ball.

Take herbal bath; put few drops of chamomile and lavender essential oils in bath water.

Take epsom salt or ice compress.

Grate some potatoes and apply them on the burnt skin. Starch from the potatoes will soothe the burn.

Hope this helps!

I personally like bannana boat's lotion (I don't seem to peel with it), and solarcaine for pain. It really is relieving. It comes with Aloe too.

Hi, I am so sorry for your pain, been there! There are sprays to cool the Sunburn down, and take care of the PAIN. I know it works I have it now. Lanacane, Maximum Strength Spray Medication. It has Aloe to Moisturize & help Heal. IT STOPS SUNBURN PAIN INSTANTLY!
It realy works for my Grand Children, and myself when we play too long in this HOT weather. Better yet go to your Pharmacy and ask, the Pharmacist will help you. (Don't forget the Sunscreen)
God Bless

Try to find Tea trss gel. I bought it a few years ago, It seems to work better then Aloe. I keep it in the fridge for the added cooling. As for the pain I would take Motrin, Advil something on that line. Also invet into some really good sunblock NOW!!!! I would recommend for your and your little girl Coppertone spray on. That way you can cover her then she can help cover mommy. I use it and the kids say its really easy to use. Hopes it helps.
