Bad Checks for Child Support

Listen to me good, been there done that. You must take this to the DA family support division All you have to do is open a case over the phone. They will send you the packet. Get it started. Just do it for the welfare of your children. Once everything is established they will make him pay the child support to the payment center and there will not be anymore bounced checks or he will be in trouble. They in turn will send you a check. Also please know that the courts will enforce these payments, he could lose his drives lic and more. Remember it is not about you and him it is about your children. Also once the court has established a case you maybe entitled to arrears of payments since you seperated or divorced. (keep all records of payments)
The office number to the District attorney in Las Vegas is ###-###-####. PS... do bot worry about what he claims as income. I was married to an entertainer and he told the court he had no money, the court said boo hoo and still made him pay me plus arrears.
Just do it....hope this helps...

You could try and get his wages garnished, that way his company take the money out of his paycheck and sends it directly to you so you know the checks would be good. I'm not sure how long it would take to get it set up, but it would definitely be worth it. If you have an attorney I'm sure they could set it up for you or you could contact the Child Support Enforcement Office. They could probably tell you te best way to get the back child support he owns too.
I know that doesn't help right now, but at least it would prevent the problem from happening again and it would ensure you got the support you were supposed to get every month.

anyway Hi T.- if you don't go through child support enforcment, I highly urge you to. I belive they can take $ from his accts. especially if he owes back child support. I feel your pain. When are these Dead Beat Dads going to own up to thier parental responsibilities. Don't get me wrong child support by all means is not the a guaranteed child support check, as long as the father dosn't pay thought the child support just keeps adding up. Unless like my case they lower child support from $840 a month to $96 a month (what a joke) the best part of all he dosn't even pay the $96. Amazing I tell you.... anyway good luck K.

I understand what your going through it can be tough not to have some type of consistancy. I would suggest going to the District Attorney office downtown and file a child support claim. However, a bit of advise is to stay on-top of your case manager, and if you do the process works. They will investigate and serve papers to the father and if he works they will automatically withdrawl it from his check each month. If you need further assistance, please let me know.

I would take your case to child support enforcement and have his wages garnished. I had this done during my divorce, but it was in a different state. I didn't trust my ex to provide child support despite him being military. He hid a lot of his financial issues. But this way you don't have to deal w/the bio dad about the money, beg for it, etc. So it makes things less confrontational and seems to make the guys respect you more b/c you'll have the power of the law on your side.

The process took a few months in my state, but it will be good for future use.
