Hello Mamas,

I would like to know what is the current rate for babysitters. Do you pay by the hour or day? Also does the age matter. I have someone in mind that is 15. This is only for the occasional weekend night or day. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

Our daughter is 14 now. Weekly date night has been a priority since she was born. Up until recently, we paid a minimum guaranteed $40 per night to hold the night, then paid $10 per hour on top. Our date nights averaged $60-$80 for sitter fee. If we had to cancel for some reason or another, we paid our sitter $40 because she held her night for us.

Daughter sometimes sits now and has been paid $10 per hr.

Good luck! Great sitters are hard to find.

You'll pay $10/hour for someone good, even if she's young. We've paid $8/hour to a 14-year-old, who was just fine, and $10/hour to a 16-year-old, who's great. Both of these for one, generally well-mannered 2yo (at least, well mannered for a 2yo! LOL!). Even in high school, the good sitters are in high demand, and can ask and get $10/hr. GL!

my babysitter was 15 when we started with her, she is now 17. She is great and we have always paid 10.00 hour. Its worth the money to know they are safe.

Hi!

Hope I can help. I babysit most of the week (nights/weekends) I currently have 15 families, 12 that I have gotten off here!

I charge $10 and hour for the first child. I have been babysitting for over 15 years, been an Asst Director in the childcare field, teach nursery school as well as been a nanny for 2 years.

I have a lot of exp. The average babysitter in the US makes $12 an hour. The average is our area makes between $9-12 depending on who you have. etc.

Minimum wage is now $7.25 an hour. Is the 15 year old CPR/First aid certified? Look at this if you were to hire me you would pay me $10 an hour and get all my exp. What does she bring to the table? I would offer $8 and hour. As if she were to get a job it would be around minimum wage. If she obtains her CPR/First aid certifications then up it to $9.

HTH. Please feel free to contact me if it doesn't work out you can see my parent reviews on my profile as well as you may go here: www.freewebs.com/babysittingwitherika that is my website with reviews, resume, pricing, and an online availability calendar.

You may also google babysitting in Keller texas and I am the number 3 spot!
