OK I need some help deciding on which baby sling to get. There are just so many choices and they all claim to be the best so I need some first hand experience from yall experienced mamas. I need something that will allow me to carry and nurse a newborn while chasing after a 1 year old little boy that although not walking yet is sure to be all over the place and full of energy by the time his little sister gets here. Please let me know which one you suggest I am just so lost i did not even look at carriers or slings when I had my son. Thanks

What can I do next?

We've got the Moby Wrap & love it. It's inexpensive & easy to use. My husband can wear it. There are different holds for different ages & weights and accomodates from newborn to 35lbs. I've had mine through two kiddos & it's been the best babycare item we've spent money on, seriously.

I found that there are several excellent baby y carriers out there. I've settled on prefering a carrier that goes over both shoulders and allows you to carry baby on front and back, as well as a sling type carrier which goes over one shoulder and is easier for nursing. I use a podegi (similar to a mei tai) and a hot slings carrier. I love them both for different reasons. The sling is good for quicker trips. The podegi is great for long carrying and is comfortable for longer since it goes over both shoulders.

Those are the ones I've tried, but I imagine there are plenty of great ones! Also I do prefer foam padding in the straps of the podegi, so maybe find something with thick padding, like on a backpack straps. With the sling, I prefer no padding.

Good luck!

I received an Ergo (without the infant insert) when my daughter was almost 4 months old. With the infant insert, you'll be able to nurse your newborn daughter while keeping up with your son. My daughter turned 3 in November, and I still use it. It is one of the best gifts I have ever received. http://www.ergobabycarriers.com
