I got so much good advice from all you moms out there that I thought I would try and get a little more. We are wanting to have a "book" themed baby shower where everyone brings baby a book. Anyone have an ideas on invite wording? I have looked all over the internet and have not found anything I like. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!!!

What can I do next?

I can't think of any cute wording, but I just recently hosted a shower in which we used board books as balloon weights. The new mom and dad got to take them home, and it allowed me to display a few small bunches of balloons around the room.

As for the look for your invitation, a "bookworm" theme would be cute. I'm sure the local craft stores have something in their scrapbooking departments that would work.

Good luck and have fun!

Ok, this is a little corny but here goes:

We're celebrating with pink & blue
A baby to come and we want you
To come and share in our joy
As welcome a new little girl or boy
But the only thing we really need
Is something great that we can read
To the little one who'll soon appear
So please let us know that you'll be here!

Ok, I told you it was corny. Sometimes I just can't help myself! :op

Good luck with your shower, let me know if you liked my silly little poem!

I own Sassyfrass LLC, (www.SassyfrassCreations.com) and I create special creations. If you find wording that you like we could make a special invitation with your exact colors and wording or we can also create several for you with your colors and come up with the ideas until you find one you LOVE. All customization is free too. Basically it would be a 5X7 postcard/cardstock material (not the film material) with the design on the front and on back another place to put a black and white message. It would take one day to create, a proof would be sent to you, then once approved - another day to print. We send everything priority shipping, so the whole process is about 4 days.

Let me know if you would like our help in the invite and I will give you 5$ off towards your purchase! Plus I have a referral program. The first person that purchases a creation from us we will give you a 10$ gift certificate. Anyone you refer after that we will give you a 5$ gift certificate. Which we can combine all of your gift certs in the end.

Let us know. We charge $1.49 for a 5X7 card.

I just hosted a shower for my best friend and this is the wording we chose to use as part of the invitation:

Although cards are nice
They're read once or twice,
Maybe three or four times at best.
A book is a treasure forever and ever.
So instead of a card to be put aside,
Please give baby Lauren a book with your name inside.
It will be read to her before bed each night, and she will thank you forever and ever.
