Help! I'm co-hosting a rather large baby shower. Any suggestions for games with a big crowd?

What can I do next?

My advise is keep it simple. With a big crowd of woman you are going to get lots of people just wanting to talk and visit rather than play games. I would say just do 2 or 3. With the food, visiting and gifts, 2 or 3 games will be plenty. Some that I have played that are easy and fun are.......

Put candy in a baby bottle. Have everyone try and guess the correct number of candy.

Give everyone paper and pen. List animals and tell them to write down what the baby of that animal is called. For example: Baby cow is a cafe. A baby whale is a cafe. A baby swan is a cygnet. A baby deer is a fawn etc. Person with the most right wins.

Give everyone pen and paper. Have the Mom-to-be walk around with a tray of baby items. Tell everyone to take a good look at the tray. Then have the Mom-to-be walk out of the room and stay out of sight. Then start asking everyone questions about the Mom-to-be instead of what was on the tray. For example: What color are her earrings? Is her hair up or down? What color is her shirt? Did she have a bracelet on? You can even ask some questions about the baby like....When is the due date? What are the names she's thinking of etc. Everyone gets a kick out of this one :)

Also you can play match the celebrity parents to the baby name. I had this one printed out with multiple choice. So for example: Gwyneth Paltrow's Daughter is A) Apple B)Coco C) Maria. Answer: A)Apple. This is one is fun to do. I think I did 10 questions. It's fun to see who is up to date on all their pop culture.

have you already sent out the invites? If not, have each person bring a onsie that describes their personality. Ei, my sis in law loves cupcakes, she could bring one with a cupcake. An animal lover could bring one with that animal.
Then mom to be tries to guess who goes with what onsie. Plus, she gets a bunch of onsies she will think of her friends everytime she uses one.

Or, in leu of a card, have them bring a favorite book and write a message in it. her library grows and she remembers friends. OK, that one isn't a game. Sorry.

I went to a large one where the host had printed up the meaning of all the guests names. You had to try and match the name with the meaning.

With large crowds I'd go the easy just answer the questions route.
For my sisters I did:
Name as many of the top boy/girl names for the year she was born: (cap out at 15)

I did a quiz w/ multiple choice for questions like this
How many cans of formula does the average baby go through in a year?
Number of diapers
Size of the largest baby born on record
Number of the most live births to one woman on record (that answer will SHOCK you lol)
How many hours a day does the average new born sleep?

Those games were easy to play, no one had to feel they were "on the floor" or be embarassed. Some people HATE the typical baby shower games!
You can also do "name that food" and peel off the labels to so many jars of baby food

I vote for no games. Does anyone actually enjoy them?

One game I have done for a large coworker shower with limited time was bingo. We gave everyone a blank grid and had them fill in each box with a baby item. Then as the momma opened her gifts the items were crossed off until someone got bingo. It was lots of fun and worked well because we could play while she opened her gifts. Have fun whatever you do!

We had all the guests bring a baby picture of themself and not show anyone but the host. We put them out on a big board and numbered them. Everyone had to try and figure out who was who. Most correct answers wins a prize. What was funny was the one Asian gal had several people get hers wrong,,lol
Also you can go online and find what a baby animal is called and have pictures of the adult animals and baby animals and see who can guess the most right names. Such as A Doe (deer) has a fawn. A bear has a cub. Youll laugh at some of the names.
