Where can I buy decent baby shoes? My baby boy is 15 months old and I can't find any nice/comfortable shoes for him to wear to daycare. Just found very few at Target and Babies R Us.

What can I do next?

Stride Rite has great shoes.. They are a little pricey but they hold up well and are great for little feet.

Saw some cute baby shoes at Whole Foods on Alabama and Kirby.
Probably a lot more expensive than at Target, but when I saw them earlier this week I thought "oh, how cute -- wish I'd known about them when my daughter was teeny."

They cost more than you will send at Target or Babies r Us, but I would suggest Stride Rite. They have a great selection and measure your child's feet to make sure that your child gets the right size. The cost around $40 - $50, but they are of excellent quality. There is a Stride Rite store in the Post Oak shopping center, and the corner of Post Oak and Westheimer next to Barnes and Noble.

I agree that Stride Rite has great shoes, but they're expensive. At that age, they outgrow them faster than they wear them out, so I never spent that much for shoes when my daughter was younger, but that is up to you. I would check it out and see what you can find...maybe they will be having a sale or something. I always had good luck at Target, but I was looking for girl's shoes, so they may have a better selection of those.

Hi,
I buy most of my son's shoes at Stride Rite. They are a little more expensive, but they have a great selection for boys. Also, they measure his foot everytime & make sure he gets the appropriate size. This makes a big difference because the first time we went he was a full size larger than I thought. My son is 14 mos & we've taken him there for shoes since he was learning to walk. I love the service & the shoes are really cute. Also, if you go to their website & subscribe, they will e-mail you coupons. I've saved a lot using the coupons! The main thing is that they measure their foot. Just about everywhere else you go, its a guess by holding the shoe up to his foot. But I've also found cute shoes at Baby Gap once I knew his size. You should definitely try Stride Rite!

I love the Stride Rite brand. They're quality shoes and they last until the next pair is needed.
There is a stride rite store near the Galleria...and I believe that Dillards also carrys the brand.

Try StrideRite. They only carry baby/toddler shoes.

Stride Rite was a bit pricey for us. The one time we got him shoes there when our son was just starting to walk, it cost $30-40 bucks for shoes he outgrew within a couple of months (when my little guys hits a growth spurt, he hits it hard!). We buy most of his shoes from Target, Walmart, or Payless. My MIL also gets some at Tuesday Morning, Palais Royal or Marshalls (I think).

I agree that it is much harder to find shoes for boys. My son will be 4 in Nov, wears a size 13 already and has narrow feet. It's very hard to find shoes for him!

I don't think you can go wrong with Stride Rite for little ones. They are pretty pricey though, especially considering how quickly they're grown out of. Katy Mills Mall and the outlet mall in Cypress each have a "Stride Rite Keds Sperry" store that makes them much more affordable - $15-25ish compared to $35+.

Finding shoes for baby boys is pretty challenging. In addition to the stores you mentioned, I've bought "comfy daycare" shoes for my son at Toys R Us and Famous Footwear. Try the Children's Place, too.
