I got a letter in the mail from The Garden City Group in regards to a lawsuit... Says this claim form concerns the settlement of 2 consolidated lawsuits filed by 2 groups of consumers claiming Toys R Us and Babies R Us had conspired with certain baby product manufacturers to restrict competition in violation of federal antitrust laws...

Includes Baby Bjorn carriers, Britax car seats, Maclaren Strollers, Medela Pump in Style pumps, Peg perego car seats, strollers, high chairs and All Kids Line products...certain dates apply

Did anyone else get this and what does it mean. I have 2 of the above products in the date range...

What can I do next?

Well yeah, this could be an issue but really, how much money do you expect to get (I know my response might come off sounding harsh and I totally don't mean for it to). With a class action suit like this, the law firm needs as many people as possible to establish their case and after they take their fees you may see a couple of bucks but that's about it while the law firm sits on their piles of cash.

I did receive it and because my husband was self employed - we saved every receipt. I am going to try... I know I have several of the items. It just sounds like price fixing occurred.

I got one yesterday too..I do home childcare and purchase many kid things..but I read the whole thing and I do NOT have any of the exact items listed...LOL! I was thinking the mailing list thing??? Dunno...but I did read it, then pitched it.

We had a similar sort of thing years ago with a truck...and we got a check for about $1200 out of the blue, after filling out a postcard sized questionnaire about it (most of the exact info was filled in..model number and serial numbers and such...it was less broad I guess). We had forgotten we even filled it in so the check was kinda cool. We looked the whole check over to be sure it wasn't a "by cashing this you are signing up for such and such" dealy-o.....had the teller look it over too....we were nervous! LOL But it was real and a nice surprise "bonus". I eventually found the original letter, which said we could expect to receive about $400, depending on how many people filed. Apparently not many did as we got alot more.

Funny you mention that, because I did get something about a class action law suit or something very recently, but I didn't even read it, and pitched it... I get those from time to time and never pay attention to them... but I'm now wondering if I got what you got... and I also have a Britax, and a Maclaren... interested to see if you get any other responses... if you find anything out, I'd be interested... if you don't mind pm'ing me?

I received this as well. Basically, TRU and BRU were price-fixing and there was a class-action lawsuit against them and they lost. You, as someone who was identified by TRU/BRU purchased one of the items in question and by completing the form may receive compensation from the settlement. So, what $1 for each item? lol
