I have been trying to think of names and it's really hard.. My husband and I got pregnant in Greece and that night ,we ate at an amazing restaurant called AVLI. I told my husband if we get pregnant, we have to name our baby girl "Avli " and then maybe a nick name "Li."... Another name is Sedona and for some reason, I have always loved that name. It means natural beauty and we plan on going there when I'm 6 months pregnant!

As for a boy, I have been stuck on Gage.. We were married on a boat owned by Gage Marina and I think the name is adorable..

Please let me know your thoguhts?!

What can I do next?

I love Gage for a boy, that has always been one of my favorites! I have never met a Gage so it is not common. The girl names are good because they have significant meaning for you. The names that have sentimental ties are always a good choice.
Good Luck

Ok, first off, you have to pick a name you guys love and really, your question is very sweet and full of love. I personally do not like Avli...had to think about how to pronounce it. Sedona makes me think of the Kia Sedona minivan. And Gage, well the only Gage I remember is that beautiful little boy in "Pet Semetary" who is killed by a truck and comes back evil. I hope I haven't totally ruined these names for you. Personally, I like older names that were never super popular but are coming back like Henry or Grant for a boy and Lily or Marilyn for a girl.

I think Avli is cute. It's unique. You could call her Avi for short. It's not that different from Avril so it's not super weird or anything.
"Place" names are becoming quite common and there's no reason not to consider them in your name choices in my opinion.
As for Gage, if you like it, go for it! Speaking of Marinas, I know a girl named Marina for almost the same reason.
Just a suggestion, but what about Sage? It grows in Sedona.

Choosing baby names can be really hard. My daughter was 4 days old before dad and I could agree. We had no trouble with a girl name for my second baby, but he was a boy so it was back to the drawing board on that one.

I'm sure you'll find the name that fits your baby just right.

Best wishes!

I think your idea is sweet although not a fan of Avli, Gage is an o.k. name for a boy, I like it because it would not be so common. I am not a fan of sedona but thats just because I automatically think of Kia sedona. You could do a play on the name Avli, alvin, levi, you could do reece as a playoff of greece. Marina would be a cute girls name, not so common. Best of luck with the naming it was always the hardest part for my hubby and I

Choose the names that you and your husband agree and want for whatever reason you like them. Why let other people put a negative spin on your choices? The names you have chosen are lovely because they are special to you and your husband...who has the right to say otherwise? That is just my thought. Good luck to you!

I have to say that I am not that sold on Avli or Gage. I like how you are trying to make it memorable and based on something special but I don't think Avli is that pretty of a name and calling a girl Lee even spelled "Li" isn't that feminine either. Sedona makes me think of a minivan too. Although, my husband wanted to call our son "Van". So, who am I to say? :)

How about Marina for a girl and Avi for a boy?

My oldest nephew is 15 and named Gage...I love it, he loves it and has never been teased for it. He also has only ever met 1 other Gage, so it's not too popular!

I know this response is a bit late, but I think all of your choices are great - I especially love Avli! Please don't take advice from people who are small-minded with respect to names (e.g., "not masculine enough" or "makes me think of a scary movie"). Go with a name that YOU think is special.
Congratulations and best wishes to you and your husband!

I don't personally care for the name Gage. I know it is a popular name right now but it is something on my dashboard and it doesn't sound AT ALL masculine. It also reminds me is ZsaZsa, or a French name like GiGi. Can you name him after the lake maybe?

I love your girl names though. But I wouldn't tell my daughter she was named after a restaurant that I ate at and then had sex. So I would pick Sedona because it is a beautiful place and a beautiful name.

Just my opinion.

I would go with Sedona. Would not do Gage for a boy...sorry. Too easy to tease with variations of it.

It's kind of a fun way to have names randomly chosen to see if you like any. You can put in the first name and last name and it randomly selects middle names if that is what you want. It will also do just first or first and middle.

Some are kind of off the wall, but sometimes you get one you had never thought of that pops up. It's kind of fun.

Good luck!
