Maybe think about a nickname? Many times you are others will shorten names, even if you don't intend it to be. Maz? Would that be too close to Maxx at home? Only a concern if you intend to shorten it.

I think it's totally what you like. I think it's unique. You have 2 more traditional names along with Maddox. It would be a second non-traditional name.

My sister was leary about naming her little girl Hattie, because it sounds so much like an "older lady's" name. Now, I cannot imagine her daughter as anything but- and I think it's absolutely perfect. Also, Hattie seems to be making a comeback!

I always either pretended in my head, or actually called out my perspective kids names, to see if I liked screaming it, since I would be doing that eventually! LOL!

Good luck and congratulations!

You may want to watch another name with a X becasue they sound really similar. BTW I love different names! My kids are Mara, Caillean and Olivia. We do have to say and spell my middle daughters name but I don't care, it sounds like Catherin but you say Cai, it's an Irish name. I wouldn't change her name for anything!

Not that it matters, but I'm not a fan. I like Madden better but it sounds too much like Maddox. I like Marcus or Micah and both are different sounding from what you've got already.....

I love it! It is different yet sounds cool, and it goes well with your last name and with your other boys' names. It is also, as some have suggested, NOT a "made-up" name. I've seen it as a last name (Mazden and Masden) as well as in baby name lists as both a boy's and a girl's name. It conjures up images in my mind of a assertive boy who is a good problem solver and thinker--who is a good goal-setter and adeptly navigates the maze of life...

Congratulations!

I must make one more IMPORTANT point here that has nothing to do with your choice of baby names. I was greatly disturbed by a comment I read below, in which someone morphed "Mazden" into various names that eventually reached "Muslim." Bigoted comments like this have no place in this forum, which is all about moms supporting one another as we go through life. I like to think that there is a lot of diversity on this list, because moms come in all shapes and sizes, colors, ethnicities, nationalities, and yes, religious backgrounds. I am deeply disturbed that that someone would make a comment that comes across as derogatory about anyone's religion. To all of our Islamic sisters on this list and to all of you who believe in "liberty and justice for all," I am so sorry you had to be privy to this, and I hope you will continue to grace us with your presence on this list and know that your contributions to this list are as valuable as any other's.

I love unique names. Allow, yourself to think about this to be sure. My mom always said, if you can go to the back door, yell their full name out without stumbling over it, then it's OK.
What do you think kids can do to the name at school? How bad can they mess it up. That was my concern. My name is D., and I'm tired of the Dennis jokes.
There is always, Markus, or Marcus......Get a baby book and look through it as well. But I kind of like it.
Good Luck and take care. I would take it that you are pregnant with a boy? If so, Congrats......

Personally, to me it sounds like an antidepressant drug and something that definitely will find a nickname on the playground (my biggest concern). We're wrestling with names too, so I feel your pain!

Personally I don't think it flows, but who am I?? lol I do love Madden!
My 3 kiddos all have M names as well. 2 boys are Matthew & Marcus.
Our dogs name is Mason (no offense, we just loved the name sooo much & we didn't think of kids at the time we named him!)
Best of luck with the name choice!
Also love Micah...it was an option for us, but to close to Michael (to many of those in our fam!) I think that goes either way for boy/girl if you needed that.

OMG - I just can get over some peoples reaction to the name. We actucally like unique names and i am due with a boy in 39 days. Mazden was on our list. Our criteria was that is must be 6 letters and end with a N - can not start with a A, B, C E, G, J, or K. That was pretty hard to decide but after asking some people what they thought I just decided I really dont care what they think - it is our sons name and everyone will learn to love it as they did with our 7 yr old when we names him Keegan - and our daughter Emalyn and 18 mo old Gannon - so we have it narrowed down to two names and we take turns calling him either name day to day - yelling it - bringing it up in conversation - back and forth. So our name will either be Paxton or Hudson. Good luck!!

I think Mazden is a cool way to come to an agreement, and its new and different! I really love Madden though! I also love that you spelled Maxx with 2 xx's! My youngest is Erynn (with 2 n's obviously, and a y) I hear all the people talking about spelling the name differently and the poor kid haing to correct everyone their whole lives... I get that over the way I spelled Erynn, but I just don't like the name at all spelled the other way.. and it looks super cool in cursive! So she'll never find items in the stores with her name spelled correctly.... they are just junk anyway!

Please don't make up a name. Sounds like it rhymes with Spazden and I didn't even think of the car connection. What a great last name...so many names would sound so cool with K.! What about Magnus or Marco?

I agree with the ladies who say it's too close to Mazda - and I drive one! ;o) I know it's just my opinion, but you asked for it! I'm a big fan of different names, but I'm not a big fan of weird names. Mazden, as well as Mazlin, falls into the "weird" category for me. Sorry. :o( How about Martin, Michael (call him Mickey or Mick), or Merrell.
And what happens if it's a girl?! How about Maribel, Mabel, Mollie, Mallory, or Margot! In any case, best wishes for you and your new bundle of joy!

I like the way it sounds; my question is to you think it's a name that he'll want to live with? Maxx will probably spend his life saying "Maxx - 2 x's," but people will probably respond by saying "oh, that's cool, I've never see it spelled that way" and they'll know how to pronounce it. Mazden will probably always have to spell his name for people, and it will probably often be mispronounced. It was important to us that our kids didn't feel that their names were annoying (not that he'll feel that way, but it was a consideration). Also, while I really love the nickname Maz, I think it does sound a lot like Maxx, so there might be a good deal of confusion.

I really like Madden. Mazlin is nice too, but I think it sounds more like a girl's name.

Good luck with the new baby, whatever you name him or her!

i dont think it's "too different", but i do agree with a few of the things some of the other mothers have said:
1) either you or someone else in his life (teachers, brothers, etc) will end up calling him "Maz" which sounds a lot like "Max"
2) i think Mazlin is really nice, but sounds very feminie, your other 3 boys have very masculine names. Why dont you tell your husband that if it's a girl, you'll go with "Mazlin" and that might make him happy enough to let you do Madden if it's a boy! (but even Madden will have a similar nickname as Maddox)
3) i think Malcom sounds AWESOME wtih your last name and your other son's names! Malcom K. sounds like a rock star! I like Micha with your last name too!

I also love M names (my son is "Marco")! I think, because your older 3 boys have such unique names, it won't be such a stretch for your 4th to have any of those 3 names you've narrowed it down to. In fact, a Matthew or Michael would sound strange after Mason, Maddox, and Maxx. Unfortunately, the first thing I thought of was Mazda when I read Mazden. And like someone else mentioned, Mazlin does sound a bit like a girl's name to me. I would push for Madden - IMHO it's the best of the three.

Honestly, Mazden strikes me as too out there... And I agree with the previous poster that Mazlin sounds feminine. If those are your choices, I'd go with Madden... but Madden and Maddox are already so similar...

My 2 cents...
