Baby Jogger City Select with Second Seat - Big Enough for 2 Year Old?

Our son will be turning 2 years old in September and we are in the market for a double stroller now that we are expecting a second child in September. We have narrowed it down to the Baby Jogger City Select with a second seat and the Chicco Cortina Together Double Stroller. I really like the City Select but my concern is that the seat may be too small for my 2 year old son. He's approximately 35" tall. Some of the reviews that I've read online indicate that while the stroller is very nice, their older child does not fit into the stroller very well because the seat is not very deep and/or the canopy over the seat makes it too short for their child to sit up tall. Anyone have a similar experience or does your toddler fit well into the second seat?

What can I do next?

I have it and my 3 year old loves it. To be honest we never used it with the canopy, but she's never complained about not fitting. She is 37" and about 32 lbs. The seats aren't very deep either, so there is some validity to the online reviews. We got it for our twins and my daughter only rides in the seat when we don't have the twins with us. When we thought we were only having one more kid, we looked into the Sit n Stand and other less expensive double strollers, because we knew my 3 year old wouldn't be in the stroller much longer. We got the CitiSelect, love it, but most of the time my daughter rides on the footboard on the back. I don't know if we would of spent the money if we only had one more. We did get a used one on Ebay for $480 that included both seats, so all we had to do was get the infant attachments and the footboard.

I did a LOT of research on double strollers as my son was 2 1/2 when my daughter was born. We ended up with the city select and cannot say enough about how much we (I) love it! It is so easy to convert to one or two seats and amazing how you can steer it with one hand. The storage also cannot be beat. It is so easily accesible and you can stuff so much under there!
If you have concerns on the size of the 2nd seat, go into buy buy baby with your 2yr old and have your son sit in the seat. That way you can get a feel for the seat and how he fits in it. Honestly, I had a chicco single stroller to begin with and will never, never buy one again. It rattled, was cheap and the wheels would not turn like the city select....I found my city select on ebay new in the box for almost half the price. Pm me for any other ?s. Cannot say enough about how much I love this stroller!!

If reviewers online have stated their older child doesn't fit into the stroller very well because the seat is not very deep and/or the canopy over the seat makes it too short for their child to sit up tall, I would take heed and cross this one off your list. Comfort for your child and the length of time you'll be able to put your older child in it is a key consideration when purchasing a double stroller...otherwise use a single stroller and have him start walking when the new baby arrives.
