We have decided not to have any more kids than the 2 wonderful boys that we have been blessed with. As the littlest one grows, I have been trying to consign some things, and I am finding that because they have been through at least 2 boys (we were blessed with LOTS of hand-me-downs!) they are still fine and useable, but not great for resale. They are looking for perfection and what we have are good clothes that have been barely used in some cases. My question is does anyone have a friend or relative who is expecting a boy who needs clothes and stuff? I also have maternity pants and a couple of tops to throw in. I am a size 10 pre-prego who is fairly height weight proportionate. I don't want to just give them to goodwill and make someone pay for them. I would rather give them to someone who truly could use them. If a women's shelter is the best option, great, I'll do that. If anyone has a suggestion for child rescue organization, done. These are really small clothes so far for baby and a couple of maternity items as well. I am willing to deliver items within reason. Thanks Mamas!
Thanks everyone for all of the suggestions! I love knowing that what we can't use anymore will be going to people who need it most! I am keeping a list of all the places suggested so that each one will get at least something as we go along. I am glad that all of you are looking out for those in need as well. West Seattle Baby or Eastside Baby Corner should be able to use everything. Both are reputable and serve babies and moms in the area.

I have not read the other answers but the St Joseph Baby Corner is alwasys looking for kids clothes...as long as they are not ripped/torn/stained, they will take them along with any baby supplies (even open bags of diapers). They serve the entire Seattle area. They are currently located on First Hill near Polyclinic but are looking for a new space. Your donation are tax deductible (they will give you receipt). I wanted to suggest FAMILY WORKS in Wallingford. They do such amazing outreach. When I became pregnant last year I had to quit my job due to illness. As such, money became very tight and I found myself reaching out to various services for essentials. Maternity clothes were hard to come by free of charge, but I was able to collect a few items from Family Works, who kept their eye out for me. They take donations and do a great job at getting the donations to people who really need it. I would suggest contacting Mayra Castaños and letting her know you have some maternity wear to donate. A second suggestion is BIRTHRIGHT. Birthright provides caring, non-judgmental support to girls and women who are distressed by an unplanned pregnancy. They do great work. ###-###-####

Why don't you put them up on Freecycle in your area? If you don't know what that is, it's a group on Yahoo in which people put up for free their stuff that they don't want anymore. I have gotten a dishwasher and fireplace insert through Freecycle and have given a lawnmower, weedeater, paint, etc. There is one in Seattle, for sure. Check out Yahoo. It's nice to be able give stuff away without making someone pay for it, as you say and also Freecycle may come in very handy for you one day!
Wellspring Family Services in south Seattle accepts donations for homeless and low income families. They have a great baby botique and are always looking for items.
