Is anyone interested in starting a Book Club for just us moms!?!? I love reading and would love to discuss some cool book-club-friendly selections.
I was thinking of meeting once a month in the evening time (without kiddos) at a neutral place like the Starbucks near the corner of Park/Preston in Plano (left of Blackeyed Pea and Chick-Fil-A); or are there better places than this idea?
Perhaps, we could start out reading the new Oprah book club selection, "Night" by Elie Wiesel??
And then, by majority vote, chose others from popular book club lists.
If you're interested, write back and let me know what nights are best for you to meet and what time. I know we would have to rely upon our husbands or babysitters to watch our kiddos while we're gone, but this would be some valuable, much-needed "me" time -- we deserve it, right?! And it's only once a month.

If you don't get a club started, you are welcome to join us! All moms, scattered around (2 near White Rock, 1 in far N Garland, 2 in East Richardson, um, 1 in South Garland.... anyway, we meet the 4th Thursady of every month at 7 PM. We rotate homes and who ever is hosting choses the book.

A., I am very interested in trying this out. There are some great places to meet in west Plano. I live near Midway/Parker. I am a sahm of three children ages 6/12, 2.1/2 and 7 months. Thursday or Friday evenings would be best for me as my husband travels a lot in the beginning of the week.

I'd be interested in joining a book club. I've always loved to read, but i don't get to do it as much as I used to anymore. As long as i give advance notice to my husband, i could probably meet any Tues or Wed evening. Although w/ working full time & running after a 3 1/2 yr old, i can probably only read one book every 2 months.
