Not so thrilled with AT & T U-verse.
Used to have dish network and regular At & T for phone and internet.

When we added the 2 TV's, and went to u verse we started having problems.

We now have a hum on our phone line that is really annoying when you talk to someone. It never used to be there when we had the "other AT & T service." We have called techs out, they can't fix it, No one can explain why we have a low hum on the line. We just want to cancel our LAN line and not pay for it, since you can hardly hear the person anyway, but they won't let us. It's all part of the stupid 2 year contract.

Our DVR / control box thing has gone out twice in a year. And when my husband tried to call customer service for help, he gets foreigners who cannot be understood---at all! One time, we waited all day for a tech to show up at the appointed time to give us a new control box and THEY never showed up. My husband called and finally got thru to someone to see why the tech never showed up. They said they had overbooked appt's for the area so they cancelled ours. We were supposed to have been called.

We are not happy with U verse. I wish we would have stayed with Dish Network and the other "low-end" AT & T.
It is NOT cheaper to bundle btw...we found that out. We are not invoiced for the amount we were first quoted.
Someone from AT & T can email or call me & we'll discuss it---oh, but wait, unless you are here in the U.S. I'll bet I won't be able to understand a thing you are saying!!!!

Sorry, K., didn't want to burst your bubble. But I am being truthful.

We love Uverse! We've had Time Warner and Comcast and Uverse is by far the best service.

I have ATT U-verse and have had it for a couple of years. My opinion about it is very mixed. I love the features and options but I have had numerous issues with their equipment. I have had to replace all of the boxes and modem at least 3 time each within the last year for one reason or another most recently as 2 weeks ago. One of the technicians told me that they sometime use refurbished equipment which explains all of the faulty equipment issues I have had.

Also, they recently had some contract issues with Scripps (HGTV, Foodnetwork, etc) and did not inform the majority of the viewers until those channels were replaced with duplicate channels from station we already have, i.e. Bravo. The issue was workout because I now have my HGTV back but I would say they are better than Comcast (which I had previously) in some ways and about the same in others. I liked Comcast's packages better than ATT Uverse, there were more options in regards to the premium channels and kids channels when tied into a certain tier or package.

Also, just note that if you have 4 tv's and they are all playing at once you will not be able to record a show, this is usually not an issue but I have noticed this on rare occasions when all of my tv's are in use and some tries to record a show at the same time, you will get a message that one tv will have to be interrupted.

I hope this helps in evaluating all sides.

C.

K.,

I have had ATT Uverse for about 2 years and I absolutley love it. ATT has great service. I had Direct TV before Uverse. The picture on Uverse is much better. I recently got HD through ATT and my picture is great on the HD channels. I bought new TV's and they came out and installed everything for me with no charge. I highly recommend ATT Uverse.

We have Uverse....I love it. The only problem we have with it is that the remote doesn't work right away if the box has not been used in a few hours. It's like it needs to warm up for a few minutes first or something, but other than that I love it. Much better than Time Warner

Our phone service and TV service has been ok, but our internet connection has been slow and we pay for the highest speed internet service. We have talked to techs, had them to our house, but they were not so helpful. They can't identify the prob. We've had better internet service when we used other providers, but we do like the TV/phone service.

I LOVED u-verse. I've had Time warner, comcast, u-verse and now directv and u-verse was by far my favorite. The ability to record 4 shows at a time alone was worth it--plus it has whole home dvrs. My big beef with them is that the service is only offered at select locations. When I moved, I had to give it up:(

We have had it for about a year and a half and love it. Before U VERSE we had Charter for both TV and internet. With Charter our internet went out at least 3-4 times a week. When ours would go out I would call our neighbors and 9 times out of 10 theirs was out also. We had to go through all of the scripts that customer service had and then they would set us up for a tech to come out. Since changing we have had very little trouble even though they don't even understand how we are able to get U VERSE because our house is too far from their main box but we have a very strong signal. However neither of our neighbors can get the service in their homes. A couple of times one of the TVs will freeze and instead of having to call out a tech, all I have to do is push a button to reset it. The only time it did not work, I called customer service and they tried to do something on their end and it did not work either so they said they would send out a tech. This happened on a Friday night around 5:30. They said they could have someone out that night. I thought "Yeah Right" and told them I had a slumber party starting at 7 that night. The tech was at our door around 6:15, fixed the problem, and was gone before any of the girls showed up.

Last Christmas we got a new HD TV, sound system and a gaming system. We paid Best Buy to come hook everything up for us but after they left some of the stuff didn't seem to work right. They told us it was a problem with our U VERSE and that we had to call them. We did and they came out that day and looked at the problems. They said they needed to put in a different box since we had an HD TV now and some of the cables were not connected correctly. They redid everything Best Buy did and didn't charge us for any of it.
