Anyone Used TOTEaTOT?

I am traveling on an airplane with my two year old for the first time. I think, after reading everyone posts, that I am going to take her car seat on the plane so she is strapped in good in tight. Has anyone ever used the TOTEaTOT product? I do not want to buy it if it is not worth it. My daughter has done very well on long road trips and I think she would learn very quickly how to undo the airplane seatbelt.
Please give me any additional advice from your own experience! Thanks!

I haven't heard of it before now but that looks like a great idea! My active yr. old son would definitely figure out the airline seat belts so we're planning to schlep our car seat with us. If it was on wheels, it would be lots easier I'd imagine.

Hi K.,
Yes, we just bought two of the TOTEaTOTs for our trip to CA. The device is great for walking through the airport to the gate, etc. but the problem is if you want to roll the stuff onto the plane. The carseats/carry-ons are too wide for the aisle, so basically you end up taking it all apart and taking it to your seat in pieces. If there are two adults to one small child, it would be fine, but we had two small children with us and it was the most difficult thing to deal with. I am glad we took the carseats...both of our kids did very well. I don't know how else we would have gotten the seats onto the plane with our kids and bags, so the TOTEaTOT was a great help up until we got on the plane. Let me know if you would like to buy one used (one trip in May)...we have two and don't see any plane rides in the near future.

Hi K.,

I have two Tote-a-tots that we bought last summer and never used. We didn't think our rollaboards would be big enough for the car seats to attach, so we never used them. If you would like to borrow one, just let me know. Last year we ended up just carrying the car seats, but it was worth it to know that they were safe!
By the way, this year we are going to buy a new airplane seat belt from American called the CARE system or CARES. It's a special harness that belts you child into the seat so you don't have to use the car seat on board. A pilot told us it is very safe and he uses it with his own kids. They have the info about it here :

Good Luck,

I have not used a TOTEaTot, but I have used the gogoKidz Travelmate which I think is probably a similar product. I loved it - it made airport travel with a toddler simple! i got mine from one Step Ahead. You are absolutely right about the airplane seatbelt - my son figured it out in about 25 seconds!
