Anyone Use Empire Today?

My husband and I are thinking of replacing the carpeting in our house. (2 levels and stairs of a 3 lvl townhome) We don't want to spend a fortune! I'm wondering if anyone can recommend a good installer? Has anyone used the company advertised on TV called Empire Today? Seems very convenient to have them bring samples to the house to look at. Has anyone done this recently and wouldn't mind letting us know what type of carpet to look for and how much it should cost? Thanks!

What can I do next?

Our experience with bringing Empire in for a quote was similar to one other post.....very pushy and when we told him what the quote from Lowes and Home Depot was for the same grade carpet, he told us he couldn't come close to matching the price. Their quality may be fine, but you are definitely paying for convenience.....Lowe's had tons of samples, was the cheapest per sq.foot, and was running a $99 installation special (regardless of how much carpet you were putting in...they routinely have a special like this in their ads.) We were very pleased. Good luck!

Hi -- I don't know about Empire Today, but we used Max Beck at Pro Floor last year for hardwood and carpet and were really happy. Good price, and he came to our house with samples. His number is ###-###-####. I am assuming you're in northern VA.

Hi - I think Empire is fine but when I got a quote from them, it was MUCH more than the quote I got from the local carpet store. I went back to Empire and told them and they lowered their price. They did the work quickly so that was good. So, I'd say use them but be sure you have some competitive quotes in hand and know what each is charging you per square foot.

We used Steve. He did our first floor in hardwood and our basement in carpet. We were VERY happy with him. Four of our neighbors used him also and were very happy too.

If you are anywhere in the Northern Virginia are I HIGHLY recommend Designer Carpet in Herndon. Frank is the owner and he did both my house and my friends. Great work, many choices, best prices. I priced several local guys and several chain/national guys. Frank was the best all the way around. ###-###-####. He will come to your house to measure the sqft and bring some samples. Then you can go to his store if you want.

K.,
I also got a quote from EmpireToday. It was not easy to say to the salesperson that I had to talk to my husbando and see other quotes. He was too pushy, which always happen when we invited them to our house. They were way more expensive than the other places I quote.
I went to different places in Burke area and I really like the work this people did. I replace carpet by wood floor and they also do carpet.

Let me tell you what happened. I went to the store and chose one very light wood sample. They delivered and installed a week later, when they were half way done, whole kitchen and part of living room, my husband and I noticed it was darket than the sample. I called the guy he came immediately with the sample in his hand and we compared. He agreed with me, called the manufacturer and they took everything out and re-did it with what I wanted. No questions asked. I was very very happy. I saw that his focus was to make me satisfied.
It was not our fault nor his fault, just that the sample was from the lighter part of the wood...know what I mean?
Good luck.
