I have hardwood floors at my house & sweeping them is becoming a real pain. My husband and I have thought about trying out the swiffer sweeper vac, but wanted to see if anyone has any input on it before we spend the money.
Any input--good or bad would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks in advance!!

What can I do next?

Yes, I have been using it on my hardwood floors for a couple of years now. It gets used once a day under the table! It's incredibly convenient to pull out and use if company is about to stop by -- a quick touch-up to the foyer and kitchen is a snap.

The only issue I have with it is the longevity of the recharable battery. It lasts only about one year. My husband is a mechanical wiz and has tried to see if he could do anything to keep it longer...but we had to throw it out and purchase another one.

So, I did like it enough to buy another one...but once my 2nd one goes bad, I may think about buying a more permanent vacuum for my wood floors. But those are heavier and need more storage space and are often corded (which is another reason I like the Swiffer so well!)

Be sure to check online at the Swiffer website for coupons. I think you can almost always find one!

I had one that worked great Id use it once a day in my living room dining room and kitchen...it worked great for getting up a layer of dog hair and kid crumbs.....it was great for the quick spills too. I never used it for my "clean cleaning" but it worked good for the in between stuff. It died a couple months ago and did not even think to replace it...hummm...perhaps I will....thanks for reminding me that I liked it so much!!!

I use one and love it! I think it really does work. I also use the Swiffer WetJet to mop.

If you want to avoid chemicals that are in the swiffer wet products, the Shark Steam Pocket Mop works great on my vinyl floors (steam kills the germs with no cleaners needed). I don't have hardwood, but the steam isn't too wet and dries very quickly, so it's good for hardwood too. You have to sweep before using it though- it's more for getting off sticky stuff and dirt from the floor. We use a broom and a dustbuster before using the mop and it works great for us.

I use something similar...its called the Bissell Flip Ease. I love it! I bought it a few years ago with the intention of vaccumming and washing the floor. While I didn't like the way it washed the floor, I still use it daily to vaccuum up crumbs from the kids.

It's similar to the Swiffer Sweeper in that it is rechargeable and cordless and it has the pads underneath to pick up the excess dust/dirt-but they are washable, which saves me from buying all the dry swiffers. Although I think my battery is starting to go (doesn't stay charged as long), its lasted a few years and it costs about the same as the swiffer...I'd highly reccommend it (and buy a set of extra pads if you do)!

I have not used it, but my sister has one and loves it. Depending on how much you need to sweep up, I think it would be a good investment. We have four dogs so I would be using it twice a day just to keep it from clogging with hair which would be too expensive with the disposable pads.
Good luck with it!
