We, along with my 20 month old peanut, are staying at the Mirage Hotel in Vegas when we go there at the end of this month. If any of you have stayed there, could you please share your experiences with the place?
Also, do you know if everything will be open on Memorial Day in Las Vegas? Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

We had a great time! The room itself was standard, but the bathroom was sooo tiny! Only thing we wished was the bathroom a big bigger to fit 2 people. Otherwise, the strip was fun and my little one enjoyed all the sights and sounds. Thanks everyone!

N D,

We've been to Vegas probably 8-10 times in the past 5 years. I absolutely love it there (and I don't even gamble that much!). It's a great place to visit and there's so much to do for everyone. For awhile, they were trying to make it more "kid-friendly" and they had a water park (I believe) and an amusement park. Those have since been closed down as they are going back to the "adult" theme. I'm not saying that you can't bring your little one, but depending on what the purpose of your stay is, it may be a little limiting as to what you want to do. Circus Circus still has an amusement park, though. Not sure on the age restrictions.

The weather will be pretty warm there but the pools are all pretty great. The Mirage has a White Tiger Exhibit in the building and a Sigfried and Roy Dolphin Exhibit. We did that on one of our trips out there. Your little one will love it.

Some other ideas...go to MGM to the Lion Exhibit. They have baby cubs there sometimes and you can get a picture with them. The exhibit is free, but the pictures aren't. If your child likes fish, there is an exhibit at Mandalay Bay - Shark Reef, I think. That was pretty interesting. Treasure Island no longer has their Pirate Ship Battle show, but there is something else there. We never saw it, though, as we usually stay at the MGM side of the strip. New York New York has an arcade area...not sure if there's much there for your child to do. Maybe check out their website, though. Circus Circus has daily Circus acts at their casino and is probably the most family-friendly hotel on the Strip. I've never stayed there, though.

There's now a Tram that runs from MGM to the Sahara...if it's running, it's worth it.

Ok last thing...downtown at night is really interesting with the laser light show, but it's a long (maybe 40+ mins with all the stops) bus ride down there. AND, you have to be careful down there for pick-pockets and such. I'm sure your child would love to see the light show, but other than that...it's not very kid-friendly. There are a few topless bars and such down there.

Ok, I'm done. I'm so jealous that you are going! We were supposed to go over Memorial Day weekend, but a little scare in my pregnancy urged me to stay close to home. Enjoy and have FUN!

I agree with everyone, I've stayed there too and never had a problem. you'll enjoy your stay, but just like someone said, be prepared for all the smoke. The Mirage is in the center of the strip and as soon as you walk out of the hotel you'll be able to either walk north or south and have everything in all directions. I believe that the transpertation has gotten better there. I do not recommend renting a car there. just use the cheap shuttle of buses to get around. When I go to Vegas, I walk. This way you don't miss the themed hotels to look at.

Have a great time.

We stayed there a few years back(before children:) and loved it! They have a good breakfast buffet that we went to often! I know they have also redone their pool which is supposed to be nice! The rooms were also very nice and worth the money. I am jealous--wish we were going.
Have fun!

We have stayed there twice when we have gone to Vegas and have absolutely LOVED it! Their rooms are really nice and they also have an awesome pool that is rated one of the best in Vegas. There is a cafe located in the pool area that is really good. They also have a great restaurant called Kokomo's that is REALLY good. It's fancy and kind of expensive, but worth every penny. They're located in the "heart" of Vegas so there are a lot of other hotels surrounding it that you can check out and not to have walk too far. Have fun!!

I recently went to Vegas over Easter. Vegas never shuts down. I went to a show on Easter night.
As far as going there with a baby, have lots of sun protection. It is so hot. And just be prepared for lots of smoke filled casinos. It's very unbareable at times. Also, bring tons of hand/cleaning santizers.
Have fun
