Anyone Know of a Reasonably Priced OB/GYN in the Mid-Cities or Surrounding Area?

My health insurance recently got canceled and I was about to have my yearly GYN appointment (which I am already past due for). Without insurance it's going to run approximately $330! Maybe this is the norm. But I thought I'd check and see if anybody had a GYN they like that doesn't charge quite so much or would maybe work with me on paying it out. Thanks so much!!!!

You have recieved some great advice,You may also go to the midwives at JPS or The Womens group at HEB FW. They will often work with you and allow you to pay it out. You may also go back to your ob-gyn and ask the office manager if they have a cash policy, make an offer and agree to pay it forward until you have enough money in the account. Book your appt on the last day of the last payment.

I just found this out from my OB/GYN. He told me that their is a type of Medicaid for woman that are not pregnant. He said most of the Medicaid offices will tell you that you have to be pregnant to be on Medicaid. NO! He handed me the forms to fill out and submit to them. I have them sitting right here in front of me. It is called the Woman's Health Program. It has limited family planning benefits and is NOT full Medicaid. I will type what exactly it states.

1st page
Specific benefits of the Woman's Health Program include:
*Comprehensive health history and evaluation
*Gynecological exam and pap smear
*Screening for diabetes, sexually transmitted diseases, high blood pressure, and breast cancer and cervical cancers
*Assessment of health risk factors-i.e. smoking, obesity, exercise, etc.-as they are related to choice of contraception
*Family planning counceling and education
*All Contraception, except emergency contraception.

2nd page
Who is eligible
Family Size Monthly Net Income
1 $1511
2 $2035
3 $2560
4 $3084
5 $3608
6 $4132
7 $4656
8 $5180
For each additional person, add $525

The rest of the pages are the form and more detailed info.

Also a cpl of weeks ago, I had a miscarriage and didn't have insurance and called him to come in and asked the price, he said it was $120 for an office visit and $65 for blood work. If I remember correct. I went in and that's when he told me about the program and gave me the paperwork. If you want a copy just send me a msg with your address and I will make a copy and mail it to you.

Depending on how your feelings run, Planned Parenthood is very reasonable. I went for my yearly visits to the Addison Planned Parenthood for several years when I was uninsured, and it was VERY affordable - I don't remember offhand, but I know it wasn't over $100, it wasn't enough to really stress me out, since I was also underemployed at the time.

Just a thought. I had some of the best exams from the women at Planned Parenthood - better than most of the docs I'd had before that.

I love my OB/GYN!!!! She delivered my last baby who is 2 now. I do not know what she charges but you could call and find out. It's Dr. Sylvie Paroski, Flower Mound Women's Health ###-###-####. She is right across from Lifetime fitness. She's very personalby and really listens to your concerns.
My family doctor also does annuals. I've been going to her for the last 20 years. I love her!!! She stopped delivering babies when I had my first baby in 2003, but she still does checkups. She's in Grapevine, right off of 121S. Her name is Dr. Kathryn Pifer ###-###-####. I'm very picky who I go see. I've gone through many OBs and family doctors. I've lived in the DFW area for the last 21 years. Hope this helps!

I love my OB/GYN, Dr. Patrick Allen in North Richland Hills. I am not sure how much a check up is without insurance but him and his staff are the BEST!
