Anyone Know of a Good Cream for Dark Under Eye Circles...?

I don't sleep enough, I'm depressed and stressed. So of course, I have huge dark circles under my eyes. I can't seem to cover them up with make up. Everywhere I go, I look tired and sick. I'm very pale and extremely skinny so people think I have some kind of sickness. I'll do my makeup all nice and pretty where my face is flawless but then I have these huge purplish circles under my eyes. Anyone know of a cream to help this out? I know I need to sleep more, stress less and take my antidepressants but there's too much going on to really get all of that done right now. So quick fix ideas? I've heard of Hylexin and EyeBhryte. Anyone ever tried them? Thanks!

I appreciate the offers for Avon, Mary Kay and Arbonne products but I have tried a few of their eye products and they didn't work well for me. I do buy from all of them, just different items. Mainly Mary Kay makeup and certain Avon things.

So What Happened?

Thank you all for the great advice. I'm gonna go ahead and set an alarm on my phone every morning to take my antidepressants and last night I took my sleeping pills like I was supposed to and got plenty of sleep. My husband took my son to playcare today so I could get a good nap and take some stress off. I'm not sure what eye cream I will use yet but I think I'm gonna work with the vitamin K first while getting the stress and depression under control. If that doesn't work I might have to contact some of you for the samples to see what will work. Thanks to everyone!

I'm sorry to be responding to this late, but the best I've ever used is Replenishing Eye Cream by Artistry. You can see a differenc in 24hrs, and 29% reduction in dark circles within 16wks.It's comparatively priced, and lasts about 10 wks. I love it!

Hi R.,

It just sounds like a vicious cycle is going on, and your body is alerting you to it. Yes, you do have 'some kind of sickness' - the sickness we are all prone to when our lifestyle is not dedicated to self-care from the inside out. Chinese medicine has some interesting diagnoses for things... basically, many modern 'have-it-all/do-it-all' women suffer utter glandular exhaustion and depletion of natural life force essence, making us look dried out and bashed up.

There is no makeup that can create true radiance: glowing eyes and skin are about a well-communicating glandular system, and vibrant energy field. A truly radiant woman walk into a room and people feel the whole room change because of the natural vitality she embodies.

Oprah magazine has had at least two great short articles on how great Kundalini Yoga is for sleep and rejuvenation. Just a few months of classes and women look transformed! Or a few weeks of simple daily home practice... low belly breathing and other stuff like dynamic spinal flexion, polishing each verterbrae and tuning up all body systems.

Ask yourself who you really want to be when you're 60. Buried under scary looking makeup, a terror to any young child who comes up close? Decrepit? Frail? Insecure? Dependent on Botox and the finances and risks involved? Risking early death through plastic surgery every 7-10 years?

We create our future selves through this moment's choices. We have the option to give ourselves the gift of feeling and being fully alive, rather than just acting the part.

An immediate benefit of this is that our husbands and children feel it, and love it!

You need supplements. I haven't tried Biotin but the other poster seems to know alot about it.

I like liquid B-Complex (it's only the B vitamins) and you put it under your tongue twice a day.

I tried Vitamin K .... didn't really do much for me, but it's supposed to.

Reduce your allergies and get more sleep. Take a Benadryl before you go to bed if the doctor says that's okay.

If you want your eyes to feel great and look less puffy when you get up, I use and sell Beauticontrol's Nurishing Eye Pads. It's a wonderful treat and it helps your eyes look better right away... not so much the circles... the puffiness and wrinkles. Send me an email if you're interested. I sell to friends only because it's not my job and I will give you the same friend discount.

Hope you feel better soon!

I don't know of any creams. But I do know of a good supplement that will help with this - Biotin. Even more if you have mold sensitivities. Dark circles under the eyes are not from lack of sleep. They're generally allergy, heredity or nutritionally related. Though lack of sleep can compromise your immune system and cause allergies, etc. to be worse. They are very common in people with mold/fungi/yeast sensitivities. And it is due to Biotin’s support of the immune system’s handling of allergies that I recommend it.

Biotin is a by-product of your good gut bacteria that help your immune system. It is essential for the utilization of sugars and fatty acids and is more commonly known for its promotion of healthy skin, hair and nails. It is also a yeast inhibitor and plays a vital role in our immune system function. "Normally" our good gut bacteria provide the biotin in our bodies. And because of this naturally occurring fact, biotin received less attention as a supplement until more recently. But there are many ways our good gut bacteria can be compromised, including medications. Which in turn will affect people’s natural biotin levels. Of all supplements it could probably be considered the least toxic in that there are still no known contraindications or reports of reactions to biotin. It's also very inexpensive. Adding a good quality probiotic will increase the benefits. Some people notice the benefits within a week, others longer. People with auto-immune issues often benefit from these supplements as well. Talk to your doctor about any questions or concerns you have.

All this being said, note: I am not a doctor or a health professional. My opinions are based on my own experience, research and conversations with professionals. And I provide them as amateur opinions only. Your choices regarding your health are your own and made at your own risk. I encourage you to research these things for yourself and talk to your health professionals about any questions or concerns you may have.

I don’t have personal experience with the product on this website, therefore have no recommendation I can make for it, but this particular page of information on dark circles may be useful to you: http://www.darkcircles.net/causes.html

This isn’t my favorite source for information on supplements, but you may find this link on biotin to be useful: http://www.vitamins-supplements.org/biotin.php and here’s another on biotin and yeast: http://www.flora-balance.com/Biotin.htm

Perhaps this will lead you to the path you seek.
Best of luck and Blessings….

I've tried them all and so far no success. What I HAVE found to help is to make sure my hair color is a match for my skin - I had it darkened and it turned out to be a life saver on the "tired" look.

But my real answer has nothing to do with creams. If you have been prescribed antidepressants, you need them. Not taking them is like a diabetic not taking insulin. Everntually, you will suffer the effects, and so will your family. You owe it to them to make sure you are diligent about that. Trust me, I know - it runs in my family and at 46 have only had a couple of times where I thought "I could do without" the "drugs" and the "crutch". It didn't work and by the time it shows, you don't realize it. And I caused my family and friends worry because I wasn't myself. I am not talking about anything extreme - just the stress and anxiety and resulting lack of energy - it's not me! Take what you have been prescribed and it you have side effects other than eventually feeling better, it's not the right one. But there are others.

One you get that figured out, the stress decreases, your energy and sharpness return, and you engage in problem solving that can only make things with your precious 4-year old and your great husband better. Your 4-year old is going to be so much happier if it's not a constant struggle. You will find you have more resources if you make sure to take care of yourself.

Wow - you just asked about dark circles!!!! Sister, your question resonated with me on all levels. I also have a 5 year old boy and a great husband. I will always make sure I take my "insulin"- antidepressant. We just have a chemical deficiency - and thankfully God has given us the knowledge and technology to help. J.

Hey there R.,
I have never found a cream to work, but Bare Minerals makes a cover up call well rested that is amazing! It's a powder and you have to buy the brush to apply it as well. That being said, I have been where you are right now and wow! it is a difficult time. Just know that if you take your anti-depressant and some ME time things will level out and you will feel right again. If you aren't already, try getting 30m min of exercise in 3 days a week. It will do great things for stress. I also drink this juice with tons of anti-oxidants that has done wonders for me. Unfortunately, it is one of those companies that you have to be a distributor or buy from a distributor. I think it is definitely worth a try for you. I have more energy now than I have had in eight years. If you are interested, it is called Monavie. Google "Acai berry and depression" or Acai berry and fatigue" and read up on it. The Acai berry is the main ingredient in Monavie. Let me know if I can answer any questions. I became a distributor in order to buy Monavie at the best price. My family of four is all drinking it and it becomes very expensive at retail.
Wish you all the best, M.

R. have you tried TePoema Restorative Eye Essence? This light eye cream relieves the appearance of dark circles, puffiness, and wrinkles around the eye, soothing the sensitive under-eye area. Restorative Eye Essence also helps firm skin, make deep wrinkles appear less visible, and prevent the visual signs of premature skin aging.
I have a friend that has tried it and she notices the change in a couple of days and so did I. I was surprise this stuff really works. Well, this is what I recommend. you can read more on it here https://www.tahitiannoni.com/united_states/english/retail...

Hi, R.! I sell Mary Kay cosmetics and wanted to make sure you were aware of our newest TimeWise Targeted Action Eye Revitalizer. This is a new product for us. As you know, if it does NOT work, you can return it, which is always comforting rather than being out all that money each and every time you try something. You can also use our facial highlighting pen in areas where you want your skin to look brighter and more radiant. Yellow concealer always works very well for dark circles. Have you tried that yet? It sounds like you probably have a consultant if you use our makeup, however, if you do not at this time, your first order is always 20% off and I pay shipping. I have bags under my eyes and a Dr. told me I would have to have surgery to get rid of them. I wish there was a cream for me.

Dermalogica's Total Eye Care, my eye saver! go to their website click "USA" and "Find Dermalogica," put in your zip and it should list the closest retailer. Beauty Store and Salon carries it here in Austin, but total eye care is made for dark circles and has a light diffuserwhich dramtically helps with the darkness and something in it that takes away puffiness. ALso has sunscreen to keep the circles from getting darker. Also heard the other day that the regular use of a nettie pot willhelp diminish dark circles and keep allergies at bay.

You also need a good concealer....are you using one? Go buy a good one that will really cover and it needs to be the right color. Lancome has a good one, so does Chanel, Laura Mercier and Yves St. Laurent--they all range in price from $20-$28--it will be worth it. Yes, you need a good eye cream, too. But it sounds like you might not really get rid of the dark circles until you get rid of your stress so for right now--work on cover up!

R., Hi N.V. perricone makes some wonderful products. He has creams that really target undreye issues. You can buy online from his website or on sephora's website. I reccomend you go right into Sephora and tell them your problem they will give you samples to take home and try.
They have lots of brands so if you do buy something and it does not work to your satisfaction they will usually exchange for a comparable product. While your there look at some highlighters rather than just concealer for under the eye. It bounces the light off your face making it appear less dark. You can try any of the products you want. It is seriously my favorite store. A great home remedy to help your eye's and destress get some green tea bags soak them and chill them then lay down and place over your eye's. The main advice mom to mom that I have is take care of you. If your current antidepressents aren't working or are causing other problems. Talk to your doctor. The stress and lack of sleep are probably all related to a central factor. Take care of yourself the outside is a temporary fix.
