Anyone Know Any Great Preschools in the Ogden Area?

I have a 3 1/2 year old daughter who is past ready to begin preschool. We have been moving around too much in the last 6 months to really get her started anywhere, but want to get her into something at least by this next school year. She is very smart, and a fast learner. I want a school that is going to teach her new things and give her a jump start on Kindegarten (which she probably will start August 09). I got her a preschool activity book the other day (about 57 pages of activities) and she finished half of it in about 2 hours yesterday. I don't have a lot of one-on one time to spend with her right now because there are three kids younger than her in the house who require more vigilance and attention on my part. Anyone have any suggestions on where I can take her? What school do you take your kids to, and what do you like about it? I know I can look up schools online or in the phonebook, but I want information from people who really know - people who take their kids. Thank you!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

I really love the Music school idea. My daughter is very into music of any kind. That might be a good fit for her. I haven't decided exactly what I want to do yet, but I appreciate all the suggestions. More would always be appreciated, as well. Thank you everyone.

I don't know where in Ogden you are but there is a preschool on 9th St. Its called Children's Classic. My daughter went there just before she went into Kindergarden and LOVED it. There is another one that my neighbors takes her son to. I can't remember the name or location but I will get it for you and then post again.

My daughter goes to Terrace School of Music and Dance. I love it, but it is only 2 days a week.

Hi A.:

I have enrolled my son in the Aschension Lutherhan prescholl on Washington Blvd. It is on the way to North Ogden. It is such a nice school and the teachers are great. The director Laura is a really nice lady. Very interested in each child. I give it 5 stars and would recommend it to anyone! - H. P

My husband is a teacher and we have been extremely pleased with The Little Red Schoolhouse. It is a little more money, $90.00 a month, I think, but it is well worth it. Both of our children have gone there and have been more than prepared for kindergarten. We had compared to other schools in the area as far as what they teach during the year and we felt we could not find anyone to compare. (We compared with our second son becasue the drive from where we live was so far, but we ended up taking him there and it was worth it)!

Bonneville High School has a great preschool program in their childcare unit. It is mixed with special needs (who are paid for by the state) and private pay (which is what you would be). So your daughter would get a lot of learning time and the oppurtunity to be one on one with special needs kids also. The teachers name is Michelle and she is amazing, also, it is a class for the high schoolers (Child Care) so the kids get a chance to interact with a lot of different types of people. My son went there due to his speech problems and he loved going everyday. Hope this helps!!

My 4 yr. old daughter also attends the Terrace School of Music & Dance and she LOVES it! Here is the website for more information: www.terraceschoolofmusic.com

You can choose two or three days a week. For two days it's $70.00 a month, for three days it's $100.00 a month. You can go & tour the facility any time. They also offer all kinds of music lessons, tumbling & dance classes.

This next year they are starting a new book-based curriculum which sounds great. I like the school because there are small classes. Usually only 8 children per class. They do crafts, music time, snack time, play time, & academics.

I highly recommend it!

Hello A.,

What part of Ogden are you living in? I live in North Ogden and know of a couple REALLY good pre-schools. If you are in the same area e-mail me and I will tell you which ones they are.
