Anyone Know About Ben 10 Alien Force?

I try to be careful about what my kids watch on TV and my son is wanting to watch this show called Ben 10 Alien Force. It's on Cartoon Network, which I know sometimes has some shows that are inappropriate. I haven't had a chance to watch it yet. I notice there are some "monsters" on there, which doesn't bother me per se, but I'm more concerned about the overall theme of the show.

I let my son watch Pokemon, but don't let him watch Yo Gi Oh.

Anyone know about it?

What can I do next?

I agree with other Mom's. It's good and entertaining show and is very addictive.

But they show, these two cousins not getting along and calling names to each other all the time. My son picked up some of it's language and started calling his sister same way. So I banned him from watching it for a while.

Other than that I feel it's much better than SpongeBOB.... which my son can watch again and again....

It's a good cartoon. The basis is a kid finds an alien device in a crash site. The device attaches to him and allows him to become different forms of aliens (i.e. tiny alien, fire alien, etc...) The kid travels around with his Grandfather and his sister in an RV on summer vacation. Like Scooby, they just happen into situations.

All my kids watch it, ages 8, 5, 3 and I don't have a problem with it. We actually own quite a few of the figures. I watch it with them & IF there is anything ever questionable we can discuss it then. My kids have not picked up any bad habits from it either. We watched the original & now the alien force ones.

My kids watch it and I don't have a problem with it. It's kind of like Batman or Superman to me.

I let them watch Ben 10 but not pokemon or yu gi oh or power rangers.

My son loves Ben 10 I dont think its too bad, but I wish my kids didnt watch it, I just dont like when he transforms, sometimes it looks a bit weird, the first time the kids watched it the episode was very mild so they were so into it by the time I saw a few things I didnt like that I kind of gave in because its not really bad, there are always moral lessons per say. I would watch it before letting them get hooked so you can decide.

I have to say that my son has watched this twice and of course enjoyed it. We do have a 3 yr old and I don't think she needs to be watching so in the future my plan will be to try to find some down time for just him to sit and watch (sometimes easier said than done). I think it is OK... It is not something I want him in the habit of watching, but every so often as a treat is OK with me. If a new show is on that my husband and I are unsure of we try to sit down and watch it with him a couple times. For some reason, it does not seem as bad when we are there with him watching it(with cartoons he's not seen before and please don't think we do this with Family Guy or any other adult cartoon/movie)! Check out the age... I think cartoon Network says age 7, but I noticed the link given by common sense media says 8. I use that alot with cartoons to help me decide if he should or shouldn't watch it.

My 6 year old daughter watches Ben 10 ocassionally. I've never watched it with her, but my husband has & just said that it's not bad at all.

You may want to check out the Ben 10 games on cartoonnetwork.com; perhaps these can give you a bit of an idea of what the show itself is like.

Personally we have blocked Cartoon Network and Boomarang on our TV. We have a 4 yr old and decided that most of the shows on there were containing behaviors that we didn't want her imitating.

Can't help you with that particular cartoon, but I heard a Dr A Hart on the radio this past week saying boredom is good. He explained that in research they accidentally put a probe in the brain of a mouse (it was suppose to go in another area) and the mouse literally 'enjoyed himself to death'. He wouldn't eat, all he wanted was the pleasure sensation he got from this probe. The researchers concluded that if you want a child that is creative, give them time to be bored. - Dr Archibald Hart if anyone wants to google - radio was Focus on the Family.

My 5 year old watches it. I've watched it and the original show with him and it's fine. In fact, it's better than a lot others because it seems to ususally have some kind of moral lesson and has nothing suggestive.

I have let my 9yr old stepson watch it. This show is one of his favorites. To me, it does not have any per se violence that I deem as inappropriate for him. It does have a story line that does teach right from wrong. This is a program you will have to gauge for yourself and what YOU think is appropriate.

Ben 10 isn't bad, my three girls have watched it for a while now and I don't have a problem with it at all. Ben 10 is basically like a super hero show.

My 4 year old LOVES Ben 10!

My husband and I sat down and watched a couple episodes before letting my son watch it. Overall, the show is not too bad, like a few of the other Mom's mentioned there is a good lesson to learn at the end of each episode.

Best of Luck!

I watched it with my son and saw how the parents disobeyed the police and were disrespectful...I don't need my son learning even more of that, so talked it over and we don't watch it.
