Anyone Been to the StrideRite at the Allen Outlet?

I was wondering if it was worth the trip. Are the prices really that good? Do they stock only discontinued shoes? The shoes in the malls don't change their styles every year so I was wondering if I would even find any of those shoes or just discountinued ones. Thanks!

I was there just this weekend and bought my son a pair of shoes that they still carry in the Stride Rite store they were marked down to $22 so a little cheaper. They had an abundance of the wide and extra wide shoes and it was hard for me to find the medium width in my sons size. I know Stride Rite is about to have a sale starting April 1st for a buy one get one half off so it may be better to just wait for the sale unless your's is already outgrowing their shoes like mine.

Totally worth the drive (unless you are coming from say, Fort Worth!). The prices are about 30-50% off mall store prices. Most of the shoes are $19.99 to $24.99. I think they are last year's styles.

I buy there! I tend to buy shoes we've already owned, but in a different size/season. I figure you save about 30% off the store price.

Heather M, THANK YOU for the sale news, I need to get both kids in and now I'll just wait for the sale.

I've not been to the StrideRite in Allen but I LOVE Nordstrom Rack in Plano....I think Nordstrom has the best children's shoes (they carry StrideRite, too). Normally, they are way too expensive at Nordstroms but at the "rack"...they are as cheap as $4.90. Most of them are priced between 9.99 and 19.99.

YES! IT IS WORTH IT! I went to the one in Stone Briar and had my daughter fitted and looked at shoes, the next day I went to Allen and bought the EXACT same shoes for $20-$24 that I almost purchased for about $40.

It is worth it!

For those that don't know Marshall's carries Stride Rite and other name brand shoes. They are out of stock styles, but I usually pay $12 - $15 a pair. Sometimes I buy from the off season stuff and get my daughter's shoes for $5 - $7, of course I'm taking a risk that she'll be wearing that size when it's in season. I don't know where you live, but there is likley a Marshall's close to you.
