I'm working as a LVN right now and I love it. I'm currently on the waiting list for RN school and the cool thing is that if you're a LVN it only takes 1 yr to complete the RN program instead of 2 yrs. I went to American Career College and it was good, but it's also expensive (I think it's about $25,000 now). I would recommend going to ROP. I don't know where you live but I know there's one in Anaheim. I think the program there is only around $3,000. I think LVN's make around $35-40K/year but I have a friend who makes $60K/yr as a LVN so it really just depends. Good Luck with everything!

Dear T..
I have been a LVN since 1975 graduation. I have had a very good career for over 30 years. School? Make sure it is Board certified. Call the BVNPT 1-###-###-####. This number is the Board of Vocational Nursing in Sacramento , Ca. Tell them where you live and what school they recommend in your area. Then call and get the information. Good luck, it's hard but very rewarding.

I am new LVN. i just started working less than a month. I love it. I work for a home health agency. i make 30,000 a year. would suggest doing something like a MA (Medical Assistant) first just to see if you like the field, But if you already know that you do then just do LVN. I went to a privet college Everest College in Anaheim. It was expensive about 28,000. It was full time in class. that is the only hard part. You can go to a community college and it would be alot cheaper but take longer. i know that cypress college is a good also rio hondo in whitter. good luck it is a rewarding job and if you love helping people and are caring you will love it too.

I am an LVN and love it. I went to private college in Costa mesa California called pacific college it is the cheapest I have found. They are excellent I was so preparred when I went out into the work force. They had a part time program and a full time. I am always employed and have never had a problem finding a job. Good luck and God bless
