Hi, my family and I just moved to the Chicago northwest suburbs from Los Angeles. . We are presently living in Elk Grove Village and very close to Schaumburg. We love it here. Can anybody suggest good doctors in the area. We will need a family doctor (family medicine, general practicioner or internal medicine), an ob gyn (male or female), and a pediatrician (male or female). We use Blue Cross/Blue Shield HMO Illinois. I would appreciate your suggestions
Thank you everybody for the suggestions. It has been a real big help. I checked every suggestion you gave and of course had to see if they took HMO. In the end, we went with Dr. Nudelman for the pediatrician, Dr. Allison Rittman as a family doctor, and Dr. Pozzi as the OB GYN. We live 10 minutes from the Alexian Brothers hospital, have used their services and decided that it would be practical to have all our doctors at one place. Again thank you everybody.

It sounds like we are neighbors. The OBGYN practice I use is Northwest Women's Consultants, 1630 W. Central Road, Arlington Heights, ###-###-####. They are affiliated with Northwest Community Hospital, so not the ones to go to if you ultimately are looking to have a baby at Alexian. My favorite in the practice is Dr. Geittman, but have had favorable experiences with the others as well.
Welcome to Chicago! You might not like it so much when winter hits! I am always happy to recommend my pediatrician to people. As I've posted on here before, my 20-year-old daughter drives herself to see him (she can go there until she's 21) and my 11-year-old loves him. There were times when he wasn't covered when our insurance switched, but I went to him anyway because he is just one doctor I would not switch. Wow, this is very much like reading my own post from a few weeks ago. I'm 29 years old, my son is 8 months old, and my husband and I just moved here to Elk Grove Village from Clearwater, where we lived for 8 months after having moved from Los Angeles (we both grew up in LA). The doctors I was constantly recommended to try are the ones at Homefirst - there is an office on Golf Road in Rolling Meadows, about 6 miles from our house in Elk Grove Village. They are a family doctor office, so can handle male or female adult care, as well as pediatric. I have yet to go myself, but it came highly recommended from several parents/patients as well as several doctors.
Welcome to the area! I highly recommend Dr. Kaufman and Dr. Brown at Pediatric associates of Barrington ###-###-####. They are located on Good Shepherd Hospital grounds. They have evening hours every other Tuesday and always offer the same day sick. They are open on Sat for sick visits as well- only until 11. For a family Dr. I highly recommend Dr. Derken. She is in Barrington close to Good Shepherd as well ###-###-####. Good luck.
You can get all three in one doctor through Homefirst. Go to Homefirst.com. They have an office in Rolling Meadows on Golf Rd just east of Woodfield. We go to Dr. Zumhagen. He delivered my son, is my son's pediatrician and is my doctor too. Dr. Schattauer is good too. There are a couple other doctors and a midwife also. They specialize in home births and the use of more natural/homeopathic medicine, but the two doctors I mentioned will also prescribe if necessary too.

I have a great family practicioner,her name is Allison Rittman and she sees children and grown ups.She is absolute great.I'm very picky and changed pediatricians at least 10 times.
My Ob works out of St. Alexius Medical Center in Hoffman Estates. I have been going to him for about 8 years and love him. He also has two other doctors in the office who I have seen a couple times. Hi E., we recently had our baby boy. Very pleased with Dr. Carey Bacalar (Obgyn) and Dr. Zand (Pediatrician) in Schaumburg. They do work with BCBS. We are new parents and both Doctors have taken time to answer questions. The staff is good, knowledgeable and have accommodated requested for urgent appointments too. Definitely recommended.
Also, since you are using BCBS, if you are looking for someone closer to your place… do check up the doctors online… you can search for their certifications and recommendations. I had found these two based on the website and have had a good experience since.

My twins see Dr. Nudelman, too. Call Alexian Brothers at ###-###-#### and ask for his number. I also see Dr. Sandra Valino-Doyle (family Dr.) through Alexian ###-###-####) and my ob/gyn is Dr. Pozzi also through Alexian ###-###-####). I like all my doctors to be at one hospital.

My daughter's pediatrician is Dr. Marc Nudleman in the Medical Care Group located in Alexian Brothers Hospital on Biesterfield Road.
He takes your insurance and is amazing! My daughter just loves him and his staff of nurses are wonderful too.
