Any Pull-ups That Don't Leak?

Okay, well, we're doing the pull-ups things because they're just easier to put on, frankly, when your child is very active and such. My problem is he urinates a lot sometimes and the pull-ups just don't hold up like a diaper. Sometimes we can't get through an hour and it's frustrating. We are going on the potty at times, but he just doesn't hold it yet. Has anyone found a pull-up that doesn't leak yet? I don't know if they exist, but thought I'd ask. My son is still too small for the overnite pull-ups, so they won't work (unless they have some that fit a 30 pounder). We've been using the Huggies Pull-ups. Thanks!

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Well, he's nearly 3.5 now and finally getting the hang of it. We actually use regular diapers still for naps (or non-naps, as I call them- really just "quiet time") and bedtime (he never wakes up dry), oh and #2's also (otherwise he holds it too long). He's doing well the rest of the time. Thanks for all your help!

Well I just wrote to Huggies b/c of this problem. My son is about 35 lbs and when he wears them...they don't fit right so the first time we don't make it to the potty, he's soaked! He's all excited to wear them..b/c they're "big boy pants" but i can't find any that work and I'm tired of spending the money on them. So what i'm doing now is he's still wearing the diapers but to make it a little for special he's wearing underwear over them! he thinks he's cool and i'm not getting poddles on my floor! + i made him a pee-pee chart so now he won't go in his pants or he can't put a sticker on the chart! I wish I could help more but i'm in the same boat! i hope it gets better for you.

Hi A.!

I agree with Emily on this one. I have ALWAYS had problems with Huggies diapers. I don't know why, just have. I switched over to Pampers Cruisers (which is only the best diaper out there) and now my 22 mth old DD is in Pampers Easy-Ups(it makes diaper changing time sooooo much easier) I absolutly love them. She is 33 lbs and wears a sz 5. They always hold the pee in, I have never had any problems at all. Try them.

Good Luck:)

I have been using Huggies Pull-Ups with the car designs for my son since he was about 18 months (he is 2 now) and have never had a problem with them leaking (except on airplanes and I think that's from the angle they sit in a car seat). My son currently weighs about 29lbs. and we use the 2T-3T size. I have also used the overnight pull-ups and they work too.

Good luck!

Test another size of your pull up. Maybe you need a smaller size to hug the sides more?

We also did Pull-ups early because it made changing time easier! We like the Pampers brand with Lightening McQueen on them (for no other reason than the character), and just moved my 30-pound son to the 3T-4T size, which does seem to hold more. However, we use a regular diaper at night. We simply refer to them as "night time" diapers and call the pull-ups "day time" diapers.

Also, I have to remember the "directional component" for little boys and make sure his "pee-pee" is pointed down, and within the interior lining/elastic. Of course at night things can get shifted while they sleep, so it often doesn't make a difference then.

We used the Huggies Night Time, the package is purple. My daughter is 32 lbs and uses them at night since she is potty trained, but we did have to move up to the 3T-4T size to accomodate her.

Our son isn't fully trained for night time, so we've been using the Huggies night time pull-ups. They work wonderful and they do carry them in 2T-3T. I get mine at Wal-Mart. Here is their website, you can check them out to see if it's something that might work for your son.

Well I can't say that any of them don't leak. I have a very tall and lean 3 year old and the only ones that worked was a small easy up made by Pampers. Hey my son(s) is adopted too!
Isn't adoption great?

We use Sam's Brand pull-ups (training pants). No, they don't hold quite as much as a regular diaper. They haven't leaked on us either! :)

We were having to use the Night-time ones until we tried the Target brand ones. We tried several different brands of the others, and they all leaked. Also with the Target brand, they are pretty inexpensive! :)

Hi A.. I've been through the pull-up stage (Thank God its over now!!). I've learned throughout the ordeal that pull-ups are not designed like regualr diapers. They wont hold as much liquid.

As I told another mother not to long ago. The Depends bed pads work great for this type of incident. They are a good backup when the pull up fails to do the job. If he doesn't mess it up, then reuse it for the next few nights, then discard if the padding begins to look messed up. It's better than washing sheets.

They have some night time Pull-ups in that size. They don't carry them everywhere, but I usually found them at Wal-mart. They are in a regular Pull-ups package; they just say "night time" on them. Before my son was potty trained; we used those day & night. Hope to help!

Huggies Learning Designs are great. When we went through the leaking stage the culpret was drinking liquids too late especially juice. I stop giving my daughter drinks before 7:00. Works wonders.
Ever since I cut out apple juice and replaced it with water she pees less and can hold it longer. I know boys are different when it comes to holding it.
One time we had to get the boy pull ups (b/c they were out of the girls) I noticed she leaked in those. I was wondering if they might be a little bigger. Maybe try the girls or a smaller size in boys.
Good luck!

I don't know why, but I have always had problems with Huggies diapers leaking. I've never tried their pull-ups though. However, we've been using Pampers Easy-ups for my daughter (she weighs 31 pounds), and they hold a LOT of pee. Every once in a while they will leak overnight, but there have been times in the morning when I have changed one and it has been quite full without leaking. Before she was potty-trained, we used them during the day and she was very active and even in gymnastics classes and they never leaked.
