i stopped taking the mini pill about a week ago and already had my "withdrawal period" which only last about 2 days and was light. then a couple days later had light pink watery like spotting. i had unprotected sex with mu husband the entire time i was on the pill (2 1/2 months) considering i thought i was safe. has anyone here gotten pregnant on the mini pill or has anyone recently stopped taking it and had cramps, and nausea afterwards? please help!
(i was not breastfeeding at all)
i just took a hpt and it was negative...

What can I do next?

I took the mini-pill while breastfeeding my twins, and kept taking it for 3 months afterwards, always making sure to take it at the same time each day, and following all additional recommendations. When I went off of the pill, my boys were 8 months old. I was pregnant within 2 weeks. It takes much less time for your body to readjust after going off of the mini-pill than it does when using a regular birth control pill. I would suggest that you start on a different pill as soon as you are able, and use backup protection in the meantime, if you don't want to become pregnant. I did have some cramps and nausea after stopping the pill, but I can't say for sure whether it was from no longer taking it or from being pregnant. Sorry. I would suggest taking another hpt/ept in a week or two, just to make sure if you are pregnant or not, or just waiting a few weeks to see if you get a regular menstrual cycle.
Good luck to you!

Were you breastfeeding the entire time you were on it? If so that offers additional protection but if you stopped breastfeeding and were only using the mini pill then it is possible to get pregnant.

Just saw your update-here is some info on the mini pill:

http://www.birth-control-comparison.info/minipill.htm

And yes you can get pregnant on the mini pill as it is less effective than other pills. The article above also says that for the first 3 months you should use back-up protection and between days 8-18 of your cycle after the first 3 months.

After I had my baby my midwife told me that the mini-pill may not be effective once I was down to nursing less than 3 times per day... also - could be un-effective if I was going 8-10 hours at night without nursing. She said it was very important to take it at the same time every day and that if I stopped nursing that I needed to switch pills right away.

You may want to take a pregnancy test.

I just read the other answers and I guess I was all wrong about the mini-pill. I've been taking it for 17mo since my daughter was born and was BF the whole time. Obviously much less in the past few months as I was weaning her. I fully weaned her last week, my doctor said to finish out the pack of mini-pills and then start the regular birth control pills next week and I should have no problems. My husband and I have not used any other form of BC and have had no problems. Maybe your body is just trying to readjust because you are not taking it anymore.
