Any Info on Vsmile Learning System

We had vsmile and it broke within 2 weeks of having it. Too bad cause it had good games and my kids liked it but it's too cheaply made. I would definately look at leapfrog products. We have owned many and are very happy with every one we've bought!

We have the V tech V Smile system for our 4 year old and it is the best thing!! He has learned so much from those games, he is now cognitively far advanced for his age. His 3 and 4 year old teachers have both asked me how he has learned so many skills, for example sorting, math, counting, all his letters, opposites, sames, etc. And, while I take some credit, I always point out the V tech V smile system. It really makes learning fun to him, and he wants to play it a lot. We actually limit the use now to 1 hour per day. I think it is a wonderful thing. We have the Jammin Gym class mat, and he loves it, but it has already broken twice. So, I wouldn't get that part of the system.

ok i have the v smile baby and the v smile for ages 3 to 6. what i think is that the v smile for baby sucks and i should of got the other brand and tryed that one. i think it is by leap frog and it grows with them not like the v smile baby.
on the other one i do like it but on one of the games it does not sound out the sounds of letters like they are post to learn but it is a good thing to buy. my kids do like it. i know my friends child did not like it but it does depend on the child. but if you don't like it take it back to the store. i hope this does help out. if anything else just ask i got like 6 of the games and i could get my oldest to tell me what she likes the best and than i could tell you. or anything else or the best game i think we have.

My daughter has the vsmile and loves it. She has the one for the tv and the hand held version it's really cool because the same games fit both! It's fun and educational. They aren't cheaply made she's very h*** o* both systems dropping them and what not like that and neither have broken yet. Hope this helps.

Honestly, I think a lot of that stuff is a waste of money. When my daughter was 3.5 year old, she started using our computer and together we did games from PBS.org. My MIL bought us one of those keyboard/game system things that are to be used with the TV and it was awful. The graphics were terrible and I found that our own computer (made for adults!!) much more user friendly. My daughter had absolutely no interest in it. However, she is now 4 and uses our computer independantly--and even prints!

I wouldn't be fooled by the whole "learning system" things. They do a whole lot of learning without them! Also, I think your 8 month old would be far too young for these sorts of gadgets.
