M.,
I dont' know if you've found a place for your son's bday party yet, but I've been to many parties for little boys at the Gold Coast Railroad Museum (SW 152nd Street, Miami) If your son and his friends like trains, this is the place to go! They even have Thomas the Tank Engine play tables for the kids to play with. Their number is ###-###-####. Even if you don't book a party there, it is worth a visit!

My friend had hers at John U Lloyd park at one of the pavillions. She set up finger painting tables and bubbles. Not sure how much it costs.

Ok I am gonna be real here. He is gonna be 2 and really hasn't gotten the concept a birthdays and the true meaning of it. Just invite a few friends 2 other children that your son enjoys playing with and some family members. Keep it simple.

At 2, I think that TradeWinds works great (assuming you don't get too much rain).

My sons and all of their friends loved Butterfly World and the Pony Rides. If the Pavilians have all been rented, there's usually not a problem grabbing one of the picnic tables next to the pony stables if you get there early enough.

Too bad that the party's in December, as they don't run the TradeWinds Atlantic RailRoad during the Festival Of Lights.

In case there *is* a rainout, you can keep the Chuck E. Cheese on 441 and Palmetto up in Boca as a "Plan B". (Worked like a charm with my 4 year old's 2nd birthday party).

Hi M.,

Depending on how many friends your son may have come to his birthday --- we love the park! The kids can run and get really tired out! :) Whispering Pines (depending on where you live) is really nice - and very inexpensive to rent the gazebo w/ the grills for grilling hot dogs & hamburgers!!

Hello there,

I would suggest maybe setting up 2-3 different tables with activities such as a playdough table, a bubbles table, maybe a block table so that the kids can go from one table to the next. I'm assumming you have a few older kids as well that would be comming. I did this for my daughter when she turned 2 and also when she turned 3 and then I added more things, It seemed to really be a big hit. If you can only do it in the house, Maybe find an area were you can cover the floor with something that you don't mind tossing, you can imagine the bubbles and the play dough do end up all over. I bought a b-day bucket with cutters and rollers and a bunch aof small bubbles and it was just enough. they tire easy at that age so I would have it in the morning, then when its over you can clean up during nap time. I hope this helps. Good Luck.

I'm in the middle of getting my son's 5 yo BD party ready and found great ideas on birthdaypartyideas.com It is a great website. People submit what they did for their kid's BD. At his age though, it should be simple and short. They say, you should inivite 2 friends +1 (your child's age +1). But of course, that's opt to you. Have fun!
