Any Home-schooling Parents on This Board?

Hello! I'm looking for other moms who are home-schooling their elementary school-aged children. I'm very new at all this, as I just took my daughter out of public school this year. So far my daughter loves being at home, with one exception. Finding a place to socialize has been a real challenge. I'd love to find/start a playgroup or club with other moms who are in a similar situation.

What can I do next?

I home-school my 7 year old son, Kaleb. We use the K12 curriculum and they host field trips for the homeschooled kids once a month. It's really cool. So, we haven't joined any groups, but I know there are some.

Have you considered putting your daughter in some kind of sports to get her around some other kids?

I don't home-school, but there's a church in Sandy, Grace Community Bible Church (GCBC), 11592 South 1300 East and many follks who attend GCBC home-school their children. They have a support group for home-schooling parents that meets there, I believe.

There are several moms that homeschool their kids on www.saltlakecitymommies.com. I know a couple of them belong to a homeschool co-op, that I think meets at least once a week. You should come check it out, and see if you are interested.
