Lakewood/Long Beach encompasses a large area. I suggest you go to your closest library to see what they have to offer. You might also want to look up bookclubs on Meetup.com

If you don't find any closer, I am in a book club in La Mirada. Our "founder" moved to Banning a couple years ago so occasionally we car pool out there...once a year maybe. We are an older group but any age is welcome. If you don't find anything else, write me at ____@____.com luck and keep on reading!

I know of two book clubs. One is through the Bixby Knolls Association. They actually had the author of one the books speak. They also just started a new book. I will participate this summer. They meet at the Dana Library on Atlantic once a month on Tuesdays.
Also April Berg has a book club a friend of mine goes too. It is through the Lakewood Parks and REc. catalog. They have a light dinner and book discussion. The books seem really good and the whole cost is like $20 per semester. That covers basically the food. You could find out about these book clubs on the internet.
