I am a mother of 2 boys and am exspecting twins in July. I feel like it is my first and don't know what to exspect. I know I can handle two and we are very excited, but would love some advise. Is there any must haves?

What can I do next?

Congratulations! Get ready for LOTS of attention! My first pregnancy was with twins and they are now 5. They are so much fun! My husband is in the military and was deployed when they were born, so I put them on a schedule right away. This is the best advice I can give you. If one woke in the night, I woke the other so that they were both up and back down at the same time. It will save you a lot of sleepless nights. Good luck!

Congrats!!! I have 2 boys a girl and then 20 month old twin boys. First of all make sure you doing everything in your power to have a healthy pregnancy, and get to as close to term as possible. My twins were 7 weeks early and were very sick all year. Besides that though, be prepared for the hardest thing you've ever done. Twins are hard work but a huge blessing. My advise is to make time for your other children because twins demand a lot of attention. Any equipment like, swings or bouncy chairs, try it all. You will need something for one twin when you are with the other. Good luck!

Congratulations! As a mother of almost 15 years old girls, I know how you feel. My twins were number 5 and 6 children for me.
I would suggest you get on NOMTC.org website, National organization of mother of twins club and find one in your area. If there is not a club, I would use their materials available. Let me know if there is anything I can do. I have some free materials I could mail you if you are interested. Read, network with other mothers of twins. It helps a lot. Rest, eat well and drink you calories towards the end when there is no room left in your stomach for food. Accept help. Take time for you and your husband. J.

I have 2 yr old twins and a single mother and they were number 3 and 4 for me. I felt like it was my first two as there was so much to know with twins.
I got them both up at the same time when they wanted bottles. I also kept them together in a bassinette and then transitioned them into a crib together. One of the must haves that I had was thos bouncy seats that have a vibrating seat.It soothed them and I was able to get more sleep.
congrats on your twins!!You have been blessed.
http://www.twinsmagazine.com/vbulletin/ here is a website that I went to alot when I had questions and wanted to hear other stories.
Hope this helps.

Hi, I have almost 4 year old boy/girl twins. Mine were preemies (born at 30 weeks) so my experience will be a bit different than yours, but I'd be happy to share our successes and difficulties. The one thing we tell everyone is.. put them both on the same schedule, it's the only way I survived the day on my own. If you have any questions feel free to send me a message!

Congrats!!! You are in for a lot of FUN!!! I love it, I have 2 year old boys.

My "must haves" were two bouncy seats (I actually had the ones that vibrated and rocked, that later a toddler can use, they still use them at 2) and a twin nursing pillow. The Local twins club has helped me a lot. I can get advise on everyting. www.grmotc.org You can find links to lots of resources there. You can also send me a message with any questions!!

Congratulations, what a joy this must bring to you. Only advise I have is to make sure you have two of everything, especially as they get older, if one gets a bike make sure the other does too. If one gets into trouble, don't punish them both.

When my twin girls were born, I had a 2 year old boy and a 1 year old boy...so, 4 kiddos ages 2 and under. I learned quickly how to get organized. I loved the rocking chairs that vibrated and turn into toddler rocking chairs (someone else mentioned these and my girls still like them, BEST investment!) When one of my girls woke to eat, I woke the other. Honestly, they were easier than my singletons. Sounds hard to believe, but having them on a schedule from the start really helped, and they were unusually great sleepers.

Get help if you can! I did it on my own and was so very tired especially after having a c-section. Try to have everything as organized as you can. Have all your diapers, wipes, creams, etc. all right where you need them in each room that you'll be changing them. I had an organizer in their room, in our bedroom, and in the living room. (actually, I still have a shelf set up in my living room with diapers, pull-ups and stuff like that) for our newest baby boy who just turned 7 months old. If you formula feed, make a big container of formula in the morning to keep in the fridge and warm up as you go so you aren't constantly making bottles. I'd have onsies and outfits set out in advance...anything and everything to be prepared. I'd take a couple hours and just try to get things ready. It's my saving grace even today with 5 young children!!!

Good luck...it'll be such a fun ride! Enjoy your time with them and takes lots of pictures because the time will just fly by!

K.,
Mommy to 5 wonderful children!
