Any Advice on My Eating Habits?

I want to lose about 5-10 pounds, and have already lost 14. I've tried to add more fruit to my diet but have become concerned lately that I may be getting too many carbs, because I put on a few pounds. I drink a liter of water daily. I'm supposed to eat 1600 calories on workout days. Can anyone advise what you think of my typical eating schedule?

Breakfast: Either
1) Quaker oatmeal with 1/2 a banana mixed in
2) Kashi Wheat cereal, 1 cup, with nonfat milk and 1/2 a banana
3) 4 egg-white omelet with onions/green peppers with 1/2 a banana

Mid-morning snack:
1) Yogurt and celery with peanut butter

Lunch: Either:
1) Oatmeal (if I didn't have it for breakfast) with 1/2 a banana
Milk
Apple
Carrots

2) Lean Cuisine meals, with milk or string cheese

Mid-Afternoon Snack: Either:
1)A pear and string cheese
2)A pear and FiberOne granola bar

Dinner:
Salad (made of broccoli, spinach, cucumbers, and carrots topped with 2 tablespoons of low fat dressing).
Some kind of meat.

As a registered dietetic technician, your diet looks healthy and balanced. You have probably hit a plateau, which means your body is getting into a weight zone that is right for you. I would hesitate to tell you to cut anything you are eating as it looks lite on calories as is, you will probably need to increase your workout intensity or duration to get over the hump.

The key for me was increasing my workout. To avoid weight gain I workout 5 times a week for an hour.

Hi!

It sounds like you are doing great but would still like to loose a couple more pounds. I gained 60 lbs during each one of my 4 pregnancies. I have been fortunate that it came off rather easily except for the last 10 lbs.

If you ask my 3 year old how mommy is skinny he would say she eats alot of eggs. At least that is what he told his preschool teacher. Now they are on an egg diet:)
Actually I do eat a dozen egg white a day and alot of chicken when I am in a crunch to loose weight. This is probably not too healthy but it worked for me. I don't do it often...only when I need to get over the hump. I am usually sick of eating eggs and chicken in a week but it seems like that is enough time for me to give my metabolism a boost. Sounds pretty crazy hah? I hate working out but running after 4 young children is a work out itself. Good luck!
