So What Happened?

Thanks everyone! I think I may try soaking with bleach. If we had a garage, I could keep it in there, but unfortunately we live in an apt and my husband said it would look tacky if we put it on the patio. Hopefully my son will start potty training soon and we can stop using the yucky thing! Thanks again!!!

I usually spray it with lysol and let it air dry each time I change the bag. But also every so often wash it outside with soap and water, then let it dry. Don't know if there's a better way, but that's whay works for me!

When our oldest was about 1 1/2, we moved the Genie to the garage. If it isn't too inconvenient for you, it would eliminate the odor inside your home.

If you clean with the cleaners suggested, please do it outside. These all have fumes that can be harmful to you and especially your children and you don't want them trapped in your house. Bleach included.

I am an Independent Shaklee Distributor, have my own small business, and after using the products suggested through out my children's childhoods, I've discovered ....... not such a good idea. I wish someone had suggested this to me many years ago.

Go to your cabinet. Pick a cleaner, any cleaner. Does it contain sodium hydroxide, phenol, ammonia or formaldehyde? These–and more–may be toxic. Home is no place for stuff like that. So if you must use it, do it outside away from your kids.

Best of luck getting that diaper pail a new aroma!

I have never had one, so I do not know what the inside looks like, I clean all of my garbage cans by filling them with bleach and water and letting them soak a while. It works wonders, and its good to do every so often to keep bacteria at bay, not to mention odors.
