Nope and you need to get over it. Little ones fall ALL the time and its going to happen again and again and again. You need to be there to pick her up, dust her off, give her kisses and get her care if she needs it. You can't and shouldn't prevent every fall, just the dangerous ones.

I remember when my son was about 15 month old I was holding him in my right arm (you know how they kinda sit on your arm facing you) I went to throw my daughter blanket up on her top bunk and during that moment my son whipped him head back I could get my other hand back in time to catch him and bam he hit the floor with his head. Now if that doesn't make you feel like a bad mommy! So many times I hold my child with just one arm like that but the circumstances where just right to where he would fall and get injured. He ended up being just fine, a little headache... good thing I am short lol. There are so many times that I feel like wow I can't believe I let that happen or that happened to me while I was watching the kids...but in all reality it doesn't mater what happens and who is on watch duty when it does accidents happen. My MIL was watching my daughter at 6 month when her hand got burnt on the bottom of a decorative working heating stove, my friend broke her sons leg with a Costco shopping cart by accident pushing him fast down the row when the cart tipped. Things happen. And no mater who it is or what it is that happens I think we all feel a little guilty that we could have been more on top of things.

OMG if I had money for every time my kid has fallen and hurt herself, Id be pretty rich. It's not that we are neglectful or anything like that, it just happens and like the other moms said, they will continue to hurt themselves. It's nothing you did or can do to prevent accidents.

I sometimes feel like a bad mom, but not usually because of boo-boos. Kids are going to get hurt no matter who's watching them and no matter how careful we are. All of my kids, I have four of them, have fallen down the stairs numerous times. It can't be avoided. It's just something that kids do. Usually, I feel like a bad mom when I look at the dinner I've made, and I don't see enough or any vegetables. Or when I'm trying to clean and they are driving me crazy. That's when I feel like a bad mom. So don't worry about the boo-boos. Kids are resiliant and will heal. And I don't know of a single mom who hasn't felt like a bad one at some point or another. It's something that us moms just do. :)

I have a story that might make you feel better. When my middle son was 10 months I went down the slide with him on my lap. It was a metal slide and he was wearing shoes with rubber soles. Half way down his foot went between my legs and his shoes stuck to the slide and his leg went under me. He started to cry and I knew it hurt but I thought he might be extra cranky because it was so close to bed time. So we went home I fed him an d put him to bed. The next day he wasn't moving around as much so I took him to the hospital and found out his leg was broken. He was in a cast for 3 weeks.
I hope that makes you feel a little better.

My son had a slip in the kitchen when he was two that landed him in a cast for three weeks. These things happen! Let yourself off the hook so you can be the happy mommy that she wants you to be :)

We used to be so worried when we took our son to the pediatrician, and he had bruises all over him. Our pediatrician (whose kids are all exactly a year older than ours respectively) said that he worries more when kids don't' have bumps and bruises.

Accidents happen. If you're being negligent and letting your kid run around while you're not paying attention, then you are not a good parent. But, if you're giving her a little independence, and she falls (1 year olds are still very unstable) - it's part of the learning lessons of life.

You're not a bad mom - that's evident by the guilt you feel. A bad mother wouldn't have any remorse.

You are not a bad mommy! Kids get hurt...thats what they do best:) Don't stress yourself out about it. No matter how hard we try, we cannot watch them ALL the time, so accidents may happen. Us mommys just have to do our best and try not to beat ourselves up when an aciident happens.

I was holding my 15 month old and walking down the stairs in those wedge type shoes. They were about 3 inches tall and I was unsteady, but I was being slow and careful. On the 4th step from the bottom the shoe went sideways and I fell down. My hip hit the stairs first and we rolled a little but I couldn't stop and he hit the spindles with his shoulder and arm. I broke my pinkie trying to catch us. He didn't even get a bruise but it scared him and he cried and I felt awful. My point is that accidents happen but it doesn't make you a bad mommy. Bad mommies are the ones that don't care. You obviously care a lot and I think that shows you are a great mom.

Oh and I threw the shoes away.

You're a great mommy. You thought your child was hurt and you took her for professional medical care. As much as we'd like to we can't protect them from every thing every minute of the day.

Your not a bad mom , kids will have accidents whether your stood right next to them or if your in another room , there will be plenty more bumps and falls to come. My youngest fell down the stairs when she was 16 months , she was absolutely fine just shocked but I felt terrible , the gate is always closed and I always double check it , but on this occasion I did not....as long as you baby proof your home and keep her away from obvious dangers like kitchen knives/cooker/stairs/bath tubs etc then you are doing what you are supposed to be and taking care of her , you cannot prevent every little fall.

Yes!!!! But don't feel guilty! As you know a one year old is learning coordination so falls are going to happen regularly....Listen my 2 year old son fell right in front of us at daycare...he was just spinning around lost his balance and banged his head a good one...We thought the egg size lump was going to pop out of his head. We landed in the ER for 4 hours for him to be examined and then a catscan to make sure it didn't affect his temporal artery. My husband and I felt horrible...All you can do is do your best in keeping them safe...You can't lock 'em up in a padded room...not realistic. LOL! Don't beat yourself up...You are a good Mommy just give her lots of attention and loving!

All moms feel bad when their kids are hurt. You can worry about and prevent all kinds of things under the sun but sometimes a ZINGER just comes out of left field. Don't beat yourself up about it.

Honestly, you are a great mom because you feel this way. It means you care a lot for your baby girl. It's ok... this won't be the last time you feel guilt. Just remember how much you love her and that whatever is in your power you will use to protect her. :) It's ok!
