We are desperately trying to find a place for my grandmother here. She has Alzheimer's, and we are looking for an assisted living facility close to Euless. She is currently living in one in another town, but we want to move her closer to us. Is anyone has any recommendation/opinions we would really appreciate it. We have toured quite a few homes, but you just cannot tell what really goes on from a tour of the facility. We just want the best care possible for her. Thanks so much!

Hi K.,
I have a friend that works for "A Place for Mom" She will be able to find what you are looking for as she knows what the best facilities are out there. This is her job and it doesn't cost you anything to give her a call. LouAnn is a wonderful lady, very caring. You can reach her at A Place for Mom, Lou Anne Nichols, 1900 Country Walk Lane
Wylie, TX 75098, Toll Free (877) 854-3566, ____@____.com
Good Luck. I know this is one of the hardest things to do.

Hearthstone Assisted Living is an A/L community. I work for the one in Garland. There is one in Bedford. We offer the wander gaurd for those that might be a wander risk but it also keeps them out of a lock down Alz. community. We are set up to give them more freedom and allows them to age in place where hopefully she will never have to move again and see a nursing home. Ask for Shelia Hollie her number is ###-###-####. Hope this helps.

Grace Presbyterian Village in Oak Cliff.

My dad lived in one of their independent living apartments for two years while he got back on his feet after my mom died. They have wings with all levels of care and I LOVED their staff, so did my dad - and they loved him.

I don't know if it's close enough for you - and they do run some kind of waiting list - but I loved it. They are located on Ann Arbor just off of I35 (north of Loop 12).

Good luck - and I'm so sorry you have to go through this with your grandmother.

My husband's grandmother lives at Colleyvine Ranch in Grapevine. It's at Hwy 26 and Pool Rd. Very close to Euless. Easy to get to from 121. The place is set up like a hotel. There are individual apartments and a main dining room. It is a very nice place, feels luxurious and the people that manage the property also live on site. Not sure what your budget is, but the rent for a 1 bedroom is around 2500 per month. They also have an on site Home Health Care service which you can add on to the rent. They offer "a la carte" services. Anything from pill reminders to bathing, etc. My grandmother in law has been there for over 2 years and really likes. It doesn't feel depressing like a lot of those places do. I looked at 3 before I found this one and it just felt right.

Let me know if you have any more questions about the place.
