So What Happened?

You guys are awesome! Thank you for all the great advice! I've tried the b12 and it really does seem to help for a couple days and then it almost makes me feel more tired. I go walking/jogging everyday. I haven't in awhile bc it has been too freaking hot! Joy of Texas! I even started adding 2 tablespoons of Apple cider vinegar to my water I drink through out the day. That seems to help sometimes. I think I do need to get blood work done. I recently ( month ago) got the mirena . Idk if that has contributed to the tiredness, but when I go have my check up the end of the month I'm going to have her do blood work. Thank you again for all the great advice!

Get off the caffeine, sugar, gluten and processed foods. I recently quit coffee, sugar and most grains and I feel amazing. There were a few days where I felt like I couldn't focus and I was tired, but after a week I'm feeling super energetic. Once you start feeling better you can add in daily exercise, which gives you even more of a boost. Trust me, I used to be tired all the time too!

You need to see a Dr. and have a complete blood and thyroid check done to see what you may be lacking. THEN, address it with whatever the Dr. suggests.

I take Biotin 5000mg, B-12 6000 mg, and D 5,000 mg sublingual daily and it does help me. I used to have to get B-12 injections. My body does not absorb well and for me, the injections or sublingual (melt under the tongue) tablets work best.

Once I figured out the balance, I have more energy. Also, a brisk walk sometimes does the trick for me! Exercise will help you sustain energy.

Good luck to you!

More and better sleep, exercise (I know, I know, you feel too tired for that), some sort of mental break where you get away from kids and housework and whatever else (let Dad or Grandma take the kids for a day and you spend it reading or doing something fun, not doing housework), scaling back expectations (I mean, really, maybe every bed doesn't have to be made every day), better organization so you aren't retracing steps and going over the same territory all the time, better nutrition, effective supplementation (a few people will say they took this vitamin or that one, but really, for 99% of people individual vitamins are not the key to more energy because they aren't absorbed at the cellular level so all they do is deplete the wallet), an annual physical to rule out things like anemia or hypothyroid issues, more cooperation from others in your household, better hydration, less caffeine (it dehydrates you and you get that crash after it wears off so you are even more wiped out). That's a start!

Have your thyroid checked out.
If you are hypothyroid you'll have to take synthroid or Armour Thyroid but you'll feel a lot better.

Keep a food diary. Track everything you eat and how you feel. you will get a better idea of how much junk you are eating (which will drag you down) or if there is a correlation between your energy levels and certain foods you eat.

I would also try eliminating wheat from your diet for a while and seeing if that helps. There are a number of conditions that wheat aggravates that will leave you feeling run down. Wheat is pervasive, so you will have to be vigilant, but this has helped a number of women I know.

When was your last complete physical with blood work? Tiredness can be an indicator of a lot of things. If it's been over a year, make an appointment.

Extra B12 has helped me be a little more energetic. Don't know if that would work for you.

If you think you are getting enough sleep, and are still tired, have your thyroid checked. It's a simple blood test. I attributed my exhaustion to parenting, when it turned out to be hypothyroidism. Wish I'd been tested a decade earlier.

Please go have some blood work done. My sister, who is a fire ball, gets like this and every time her B-12 is depleted. She gets the vials and syringes and gives herself the shots when she's having issues for an extended time.

There are many reasons for this, illness attacking your system, deficiency in some mineral or nutrient, and more. If this is something that is ongoing and consistent you may need to add supplements or start a regular exercise program even if it's going to the Y and getting in the pool to exercise 3 times per week.

I had my levels checked not too long ago and my B12 and Iron were both low. I am taking both and now I feel MUCH better.

Go to a doctor and get a full screen blood work done, then you will know if you are low on ANYTHING.

Take time in the day if you need a 20 minutes power nap, or power walk, even if it's inside. I agree with others who say cut out the caffeine. It really helps a LOT.

Exercise. Sounds counterintuitive because you're tired & don't want to
exert the energy but exercising releases endorphins & boosts your
energy.
Eat better. Kick sugar to the curb as much as poss, eat whole grains,
veggies, fruits.
Don't drink caffeine. If you must have some, have 1 cup of coffee in the
morning.
Take a multi vitamin.
Have a full blood screening by your doctor.
Get out in the sun a little every day (15 mins min).
Make sure you are getting sound sleep
Go to bed at a decent time. Same time each night.
Drink lots of water to flush toxins out.

As several have suggested below, have your thyroid checked. I suffered through extreme exhaustion for nearly a decade before my doctor checked my thyroid. Turns out that was the issue. Simple medication once per day (no side effects), and that has solved the issue totally. Good luck.

Do you give yourself permission and the space to feel all of your feelings? Are you suppressing anger? Do you have a hard time saying "No"? Do you have something that is just for you that you do regularly?

Too often as moms we put everyone else on our list of things to do and leave ourselves off. This will lead to your cup being drained and complete exhaustion. It is important to decide that you will fill your cup first and then give freely from the overflow.

Exhaustion is often created by our beliefs in sacrifice. Sacrificing yourself never supports anyone. It only leads to depression, anxiety, and illness. Self-care is a vital part of being able to fully be there for those around us.
