Air Duct Cleaning - Farmington,MN

Has anyone had their air ducts cleaned? I had heard that this service was a waste of money but my ducts seem dirty and dusty. The white cold air return vents are dusty all the time, I take them off and clean them almost every month. In my old house I think I did it twice a year. If you have had it done do you think it was worth it? Who did you use? Thank you!

What can I do next?

We had it done in April of last year. I thought it was a good time, between big heating and cooling parts of the year. The gas company had a deal, so I took them up on it. It was how I found out I needed a new heater. =/

Anyway. The air quality is MUCH better now, and my filter is hardly getting dusty at all.

The only problem is they left metal shavings in my laundry room (room attached to the heater area) and it was very difficult to get out of my Berber carpet, for weeks.

So I recommend it, just make sure they clean up when they are done, if they have to adjust any duct holes at all. =)

Yes, we've had it done. First before we moved into the house and then after everytime we did any major home improvement. Our heater includes a hepa filter component and with 2 people with allergies, we find that the air duct cleaning helps. Otherwise, we change our filter once a month. It really does get quite dirty (and we have not pets!)We use Sedgwick Heating and Cooling.

We have our air ducts cleaned every 2-3 years by this company and have been very satisfied with the results, they were recommended by the people that installed our furnace, and they service your area.

We moved into a 10 year old filthy house that had a lot of construction done in the basement a couple of years ago. I had our ducts cleaned this year. It was totally worth it. I had the same dusty registers, and dont have them anymore-other than an occasional dusting. I think it has helped on our winter ilnesses too. I dont know if I would do all the "extras" next time. I did do the sanitizer, had them clean our hot water heater (to lenghten the life??) and cleaned our dryer and vent (we ended up getting a new dryer anyways) Overall I think it was worth it. I think our air is flowing better. They showed me all the garbage they got out of the vents. It was gross. It is hard to tell if it helped with the heating bill since this winter was so cold (and we need new windows--if it isnt one thing, it's another) Good Luck with your decision!

We have had it done twice. First buy a company that we just picked(not a good job at all) and second by Centerpoint Energy. Centerpoint did a great job!! They have a special right now for the furnace and the ducts.
