After Pregnancy Period

Two months after I had my daughter I got what I thought was my period. It ended up lasting for like a day and a half. When it started, I started the pill again. Now I have my period again 10 days later and it's really heavy. Do I keep w/ the pill I started 10 days ago or should I start a new pack today? I know it seems like a silly question, it's been years since I have been on the pill and exhaustion seems to be clouding simple answers lately. Thanks.

What can I do next?

I had the same thing. One month I got my period three times. I have a friend who is a Ob/GYN she told me it could take a couple months for my body and hormone levels to adjust. It took two months to straighten itself out.

Just keep with it. It's probably your body getting used to the change in hormones. My body took almost a year to get back on track and I had Mirena.

Best of luck! And don't forget to use other forms of contraception for the first month!

No doubt you are getting lots of good advice, but I highly recommend that you call your doctor's office and ask a nurse or a doctor. This is your body, and you want to be sure everything is okay. You are talking about how and when to take prescription drugs, and you should be asking a medical professional.

I know it's kind of scary, and at the same time you don't want to ask if it's perceived by the med's as a dumb questions, but it's MUCH better to ask, and get a good answer from people who really do know.

Hang in.

Call your ob/gyn, this is a medical question. Probably a new pack, though.

i had a similar situation after i had my son. i called my ob-gyn and they said to continue w/ the pill pack and that my body would regulate itself. i would recommend calling your ob-gyn and getting their advice.

stay on the pill pack that you are on. i would also call the doctor and let them know this. may be you need to be on a stronger pill or may be everything will straighten itself out. do not take any chances, call the doctor.

when i had my 5th child in september last year, i stopped bleeding and then started again. i thought it was my period. turns out it was not and i didn't get the "real" thing until mid december. . but anyway, i would just toss the pack you started, wait till you stop bleeding, then start taking the new pack on the first sunday after you start bleeding again. it should be fine.

This happened to me too. From what my doctor said, this is normal and should straighten its self out on the 3rd pack. So, look forward to this with your second pack as well. It did straighten out for me, as my doctor said. I would keep with your current pack and not start a new one.
