ADVISE: Creme De La Creme in Plano, TX

I am about to put my 3 year old son in Creme De La Creme in Plano, TX. I know that the cost is very expensive, but we are willing to make the sacrifices necessary for our son to have the best education. We are only having our one child...and we have committed to giving him the best education out there. I live in Aubrey and work in Plano...very clost to Creme De La Creme. Does anyone have any experiences with that Creme location? Any advise would be helpful.

What can I do next?

So What Happened?

Thank yo all for your comments so far. I have also spoken to a friend that recently pulled her children out of Creme in Plano and she also gave me some really great insight as well (both pro's and con's). I did speak with Tonya (the Director) about all of my concerns and she assured me that, although she is aware of Creme's past problems, she is working very hard to change all of the issues at hand and put Creme back on top. I believe her...she seemed very sincere and determined. I did however, just tour Carpe Diem in Frisco today. It is a little far from where I work, but closet to my home. I do have to say that I am very impressed. It is beautiful and clean. Warm and inviting and seemed strangely calm. The children seemed very calm and happy. The uniform is just a polo shirt that needs to be purchased (I can provide my own khaki pants). The curriculum looks great and the teachers all have a lot of longevity at that location (they started with 20 teachers and 14 of them are still there = 5 yrs.)....they are also almost all degreed in a related field. What really got me out of all of it though? There are no more than 12 kids per class with 2 main teachers and a third teacher for their specific subjects. It is also $180 less per month cheaper at Carpe Diem than Creme. I am going by Creme tomorrow at lunch for a "drop-in" to check it out again for a comparison....I am making my final decision by the end of the week. There are pro's and con's with both. I'll let you all know how things turn out. Please keep your opinions coming...they are so very helpful!!

UPDATE: I talked to some more parents who take their kids to Creme in Plano and they LOVE IT!! They did say that their only complaint has been the high turn-over of teachers but that for the past 6 months, the teachers have all stayed put and the Director has the newly hired teachers commit to a year. The turn-over rate has really decreased and these seem to be top-quality teachers. I decided to give Creme a shot. This was his first week and so far, he loves it!! It is taking some getting used to, but he really has a lot of fun learning within this environment and loves the structure. He is already making friends and seems happy about the switch. I hope that this positive experience continues...we will see.

Hi,

I enrolled my daughter there when she was 17 months old, she stayed there till she went to public school. It was a great experience for her, she was nurtured and educated at the same time. Their curriculum is excellent, she started reading bob books at age 3 and was reading chapter books (2nd grade) by the time she left creme. We also made many good friends whom we are still friends with. She also started learning computer at age 2, today in 2nd grade she is helping her teacher to teach other kids in class. SHe is a well adjusted child doing very well in school she is ranked number 1 in her entire grade of 2nd grade of 120 kids, I credit Creme for their curriculum and pushing the kids at a young age when their mind is like a sponge. Please let me know if you have any other questions.

K

I have heard excellent things about Primrose as well. I don't know much about Creme...I live right by one but my kid's go to St. Mark's so we never looked into it. I'm with you, I want to give my kid's an excellent education to build them up for success! Good luck and I'm sure you will choose the right path!

Try to visit Cape Diem in Frisco. (the also have Allen and Richardson locations). I was very happy with the quality of education. It is expensive but so worth it.

I think Primrose is the best choice as well. From what I have heard Creme promises you alot but just doesnt deliver. It's all bells and whistles. I know teachers that have worked at the Plano location and didn't stay very long because of how unorganized it is. Primrose is all about education and teaching your child to love to learn in a true preschool setting. They learn what it is like to be in an actual school environment. Creme gets you up front because its cool and looks like Disneyland. Just my opinion! Good Luck!

Creme de la Creme used to be great! But honestly the curriculum isn't like it once was. I loved it too, just like the mom with the 2nd grader. My oldest son is now a Kindergartener...I loved it there until his last year...There wasn't much of an education goal and no correction on how student's should hold their pencils. I pulled my youngest son, a 3 year old, out last November just for that reason. He totally was not learning anything close to what my older son had learned. The economy has also caused them to offer fewer classes...meaning they are at or over the number of students they should have in a class. With a large number of kids the teachers spent a great deal of time trying to "control" the kids by raising their voices daily. You could see the stress in the teachers. My son went through 3 teachers in 3 months...He wasn't crazy about going but only cried for a bit when I left. Now he is like "Bye Mom - See ya!" at his new school....So I'd advise you to look around. From what I understand - they are still short staffed and maxed out with classes. Good Luck!! PS I did love Creme Plano in the day!

Hello Ladies,

Our family is in the process of re-locating to the Plano / Richardson area.
Our daughter attended Creme in Lone Tree, CO from the age of 4 months to age 2. We pulled her because she was constantly getting sick. Since we left, she has no health issues.

It seems that the Creme in Lone Tree is also experiencing the same problems that you all were kind enough to share.

I will look into willow bend education and carpe diem!

If anyone has insight on either schools i've mentioned. Please share!

Thanks

My daughter has been in Creme Plano for 3 months and LOVES it. She's 18 months and speaking spanish, always wants to go to school.

We recently looked at Primrose because it's closer to our house. I actually liked the facility better than Creme but I couldn't get over the age of their staff- they all, and I mean all, seemed to be straight out of highschool and not terribly friendly. We popped in on a Friday when they were handing out Chips Ahoy cookies to the 18 month olds- something you'd never see at Creme. Also, no closed cricut cameras- they simply have an open door policy, every preschool has an open door policy. With out closed circut cameras it's hard to imagine that those teenage girls don't slip out a cell phone to text. It was also extremely white. I love the multi-cultural atmosphere of Creme.

Creme Plano has my trust. I see that the teachers genuinely love my little girl. I can not recommend it enough.
