Advice on Where to Buy Cute Maternity Clothes

I am due in January so I still have a way to go before I am huge - but I still want to make it obvious that I am pregnant and not just getting fat. Does anybody know where to buy some maternity clothes that I can wear both now, and once I really have a belly on me? I am not willing to spend $30-$40 on a shirt, though...I looked in the business reviews and couldn't find what I was looking for.
Also, I remember a while back before I was pregnant - somebody posted about this cute maternity store that had shirts with cute prints and sayings on them. If anybody knows where I can find these too, that would be awesome.

Thanks Ladies!

I guess I should have mentioned that I already have experience with Target, Old Navy & Gap etc. and department stores - I would like a trendy place with good quality clothes, but just not WAY up there. I don't really do Marshall's or Ross or any consignment stores. I would like to find a place that is a well kept secret. Sorry about any confusion... still needing advice! I want to wear primarily well-fitting dresses (I don't want to look like I am wearing a tent). Plus I am young and petite and most stores cater to larger pregnant women. I think I might start designing my own if I can't find a place! ;)

What can I do next?

OK, I am only giving away my well kept secret because I am done having babies...The Mother hood at Grapevine Mills mall gets "damaged" Mimi and Pea in the Pod maternity clothes cheap!! "Damaged could mean big hole to stitch crooked or something barely noticable!!

Kid 2 Kid sales Maternity clothes, The Gap in Grapevine Mills, Old Navy, and Motherhood always have great selections and sale stuff. Just a word of advise dress in layers, tank tops are cheap and great for summer and when it gets a little cooler you can wear them under a button up dress shirt.

Good Luck and Congrats,
J.

If you want to buy cute shirts for under $30-40, you'll probably have to buy second-hand. If you haven't found anything in consignment stores, try Ebay. I found some great deals there!

I loved Old Navy, Kohl's and Target. They all sell cute maternity clothes that can be worn now, at your biggest and up to several months after and still be fashionable. Also, all three stores are very reasonably priced and Kohl's is always having a sale. If you don't mind resale, Kid 2 Kid has some clothes.

Also, Gap/Old Navy online usually has a big selection with stuff on sale all the time and you can return the items to a store with no problems if they are not right.

Burlington Coat Factory has a maternity section, as does Ross if you're looking for some inexpensive summer stuff. I bought a lot of cute tops there.

Congrats!

Congrats on your upcoming baby. When I was pregnant, I shopped at Kohl's, Old Navy, and JC Penny's. They always seemed to have really good quality clothes. From time to time, I would find great things at Ross as well.

If you can wait a little while, there's a huge children's consignment sale in September/October. It's called Divine Consign. I'm one of the owners. We have tons of maternity clothing plus everything you need for baby. We'll have sales in Plano, Grapevine and Arlington. Check out our website at www.divineconsign.net for details.

It takes a little work, but you can find some great bargains if you shop the sale areas. Although Mimi Maternity and A Pea in the Pod are more expensive at full price, you can find great bargains on Spring and Summer clothes in June and especially July. Look in the clearance areas first. Mimi and A Pea in the Pod are generally more fitted than the bargain stores, of a higher quality, and are most accommodating to smaller frames- Motherhood is great for larger sizes.
Otherwise, in all the places that people have mentioned, you can find some items to work for you. If you are on a budget, you probably will only find an item or two in any one place.

Old Navy was my absolute favorite. You got the exact same clothes as the regular clothes, but they were maternity style (if that makes sense). I loved how I could still wear the same thing as everyone else. I also went to Motherhood and shopped their clearance rack and JC Penny was good too. They always have sales. The good thing is that the baby doll tops are very in style right now, so you can probably wear those for a long time and then get maternity shirts later. Congratulations!!

I'm due in Nov. I've been buying cute T-shirts and blouses at ROSS for any where from $6.99 to $8.99. There are some with cute sayings too.

Good luck and congrats,

Hi Victoria,
Target has great maternity clothes as well as Motherhood Maternity. Both places carry petite, regular and plus size styles for business and casual sittings. I found it best to buy small amounts of clothes as I needed them, instead of spending money on clothes for the whole 9 months, expecting I would 'grow' into them.

Good luck!
