Hi,
I was wondering what other moms do about carseats for their nanny's car? Right now my nanny watches my 16 month baby body 3-4 days a week/25 hrs per week. She is also a part-time student. We are presently using a sit n stroll that can be removed from her car ever weekend and sometimes once in the middle of the week. She is 29 years old and doesn't want a permanent carseat. Does anybody know the safety of a sit n stroll? She has a convertible car so there is no place to put the top thether strap. I'm feeling concerned that a sit n stroll is not safe enough, but I can't find any additional information. Any suggestins on what other mothers or nannies do will be helpful as well as any safety information on a sit n stroll.
Thank!

My two children have the Britax Marathon seats that get taken in and out of my car, our nanny's car and my husband's car throughout each week. It's just something we all have to do since we want one of the safest carseats, but don't want to buy extras. We are lucky that we have the LATCH system in all vehicles, but if we didn't we would properly train/learn how to install the seats using seatbelts in each car. There are many local places that will do this.

I just sucked it up and bought an extra carseat for my nanny's car. It's a britax marathon.

I do not have a nanny, but I feel as though if she wants to drive the baby around she needs to have a permanent car seat. Isn't this part of the job, to saftly transport your son to where he needs to go? I would tell her that the safty of your child is very important, if she plans on driving the baby, she will need to have a car seat installed in her car.

no car seat is "permanent" they can all be removed. Discuss with your nanny a regular carseat, and she can either remove it and store it in her trunk on weekends, or remove it and store it at your home (or she can remove it daily if she wants, though she might find that is a hassle if she's in a hurry). It's really not that hard to remove a carseat or to put onr back in. Part of a nanny's job is to safely transport your child. Buy a carseat that you feel your child is safe in and insist the nanny uses it - if she rejects the idea of a safe carseat in her car for your child, then maybe you might have to get a new nanny.
